Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Does anyone know whether, if I convert my month to month 4Mb home uncapped deal into a 24 month contract, I would qualify for the January Big Deal (free lit box)?
 
Still waiting for them to phone me to receive mine. Was supposed to get mine with the home unlimited deal. Kenilworth centre branch. Cape Town
 
Something changed, even though it looks like its still on August 2017 firmware.

The good news is, for some reason, DD+ passthrough is now working! Which makes me happy, I can use Plex app again, instead of plex kodi plugin with transcoding.

My receiver now shows DD+ when playing media files with EAC3 audio streams.

Something that I noticed was my tv settings started working.

What is your pass through setting in Plex?

Hmm wonder if this would have fixed the inverse with AC3 to Stereo.

Mine updated Plex and more content played with sound, so I think it is more a Plex thing than a LIT box thing.

This works for me, as long as passthrough is disabled in plex.

I did more testing. EAC3 (DD+) works now, didn't in the past.
DTS-MA still doesn't work sadly. I either turn it down to stereo in plex app, or I have to use kodi and transcode to DD 5.1

But that's because your receiver understands AC3.

I'm referring to a TV itself that does pure Stereo.
