Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Afternoon. i am thinking about registering for the Prime video subscription, but would just like to know if it will be worth it? I see the lineup they have looks quite good and after reading through the last thread, it seems the apk for prime does indeed run good on the lit box.
 
Hi guys.just got the LIT box. Plugged it in and there's no google play store. Only showmax was on. Should I be concerned?

In fact, the OS doesn't even look like anything google. It's a pretty plain interface. Did I get a fake here?

Go into the settings / about / versions or whatever and show us a pic of what firmware and android releases it has on it.
 
Ah, you've got a very old one with an old version of the software on it.
Take it back to where you got it from and ask for an updated one - there's no OTA possible from android 6 to 7.

Looks like you received one of the faulty release 1 models. You need to take it back to Telkom and ask them to replace it with the new model.

Its not possible to do an update on it.

Search early in this forum for more info.

Wondering myself, got the app loaded, see some saying you need a VPN, not sure if that is required to get full US content, or just to get international content as well.

Still need to get home at a decent hour to try it.
 
Amazon Prime picture is good but with lots of stuttering and horrible audio sync issues!

I have tried all the aptoide TV apps as well as a few apk's. Can't get it to work properly!

Amazon Prime is great, definitely worth it. I enjoy The Grand Tour a lot! Lovely crisp 1080P/24 picture. However, I cannot get it to work properly on my LIT Box. I'm currently using my Xbox One for Amazon Prime viewing.

Well that sucks. I installed the latest version from the Aptiode app store, but haven't yet tried the free 7 day trail period
