Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Just got the update for my A11. Took 2 updates and both wiped it so had to reinstall from scratch, but so far no problems.

ALL my stuff got wiped, but now the box looks like my "MI" and "NVidia" boxes. I did have a problem when trying to install KODI that the device ran out of space, but I just wiped the data from one of the apps (can't remember which one, but it was consuming 3.nG space) and so far so good. Wife uses it and I will get some feedback from her...

ps - now back making some tracks on my brand-new Octatrack!

I'd have thought there was an auto resolution that was default

Yes but the auto for some reason just did not work. Have an old lg led (2007) model . The LIT is connected to it. After the upgrade you just could not get a picture. Had to connect it to the tv in the living room (2013 led). That displayed a picture. Took it off auto. Set it to 720p. Took it back to the old Tv. Now it displayed a picture. Set it back to auto and only then it worked

The guys with the bricked devices ... I'd be curious to see whether this is the issue?

Is the other TV an LG or another brand?

Old tv is an lg the “newer” one is a Samsung

Its not a bricked issue tbough. You have to set your litbox to auto resolution, so that the box can automatically detect what resolution your tv is currently on.

However, after the update, the litbox should in any case be set to auto res, if its not, then its another fail in terms of this particular software version.

It should be display auto ... And my understanding from his case, is that it didn't detect the right resolution and displayed a blank screen. Hence he thought it was bricked as it displayed nothing.

I'm wondering if the other 'bricked' units are the same.

Remember LG had the issue with HDMI CEC too. It's worth a look, I think. That was an LG issue and not a LIT issue

Jip. With both updates it was set to auto resolution but the LG just did not pick it up. Had to connect it to the samsung. Then set the resolution to 720. Disconnect. Connect it to the LG again. Now I can see what going on. Then set it back to auto and then it’s working fine on 1080p
