Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Maybe check and make sure that you are getting these from the official sources. NOT modded versions.

Nothing wrong with the right modded versions. Mobilism is your friend.

With "official" sources you might well have to put up with ads and other cr@p within the app.

Blokada sorts this for me in tv zion

Dunno bout the others ur using

I only use Cyberflix in conjunction with Real-Debrid. I don't think one has to have more than that, IMO.

I too use Blokada, except in my case it's for use with legit apps such as Sony Crackle. It does a good job of blocking all the ads that would have otherwise made watching content there a real chore.

Will ask the wifey, shes home and can monitor better than me,

But in the evenings when ive been home its been behaving

Are there perhaps any apps that you are using from a unknown source ?

The only apps that i use are:

Blokada
Morpheus
TVZion

Other than that its just DSTV and Showmax for watching shows
Also thought about this and even the possibility that we may have the same app that's causing the issue.
Besides all official apps, I have:
Cyberflix, TitaniumTV, TeaTV, Mobdro, Blokada (All side loaded)
Sideload Launcher, Puffin Browser, FX File Explorer (I think all these are available through the official Play Store)
After the factory reset, I only updated the pre-installed apps via the Play Store. No other apps have been installed yet.

Anyone actually managed to watch 4k content on Netflix with the Litbox?
Category isn't showing up when I use the Litbox but is available on my TV.

I'm pretty sure I have.

Android 8 / official Netflix ?

Yep. Also noticed the same issue on my MiBox :|
Think it could be the cable? Or Port?

On my Mi Box the actual Android system didn't pick up 4K when I first plugged it in - so it was using 1080 and therefore, Netflix was only 1080.

Maybe double check the box (TV Settings) is definitely on 4K first

Was using a the wrong port. Sorted now but also noticed I needed to set the box resolution to 2160p60hz for it to work.

hi does anyone know of windows software that would be able to recognise the SDcard that is formatted as the devise storage so that i can take it out and edit it on my pc???

Why would you want to edit the SD card in the first place.

Finding a Linux/Android files system driver on Windows might not be easy.

Best box at the moment between the Mi , and Skyworth Binge , right ?

Er.

You're in the LIT thread asking this?

It's between the LIT and the Mi. The latest iteration of the LIT adds the Bluetooth remote and Netflix, so they're petty much on par.

Where the LIT is ahead though, is it is 2 x USB and an ethernet, while the Mi has (if I recall) 1 x USB and no ethernet. I'm not unsure if it has a SPDIF either

It has SPDIF, and is a bit faster, but I am still very happy with my LIT box ( A11 ), version. Wife use the MiBox. And we are both happy.

I didn't find it faster in use tbh... But yea, could be.

I think the biggest meaningful difference would be the ethernet though

The ethernet was a motivator in my buying the LIT box, I find the MiBox, a little smoother, but not so much so as to get excited about.

Edit:

When I say smoother, I am refering to the way the box responds, no discernable difference, between each's ability to play back the same media, streams, etc.

Guys (and girls?) - What other apps have you loaded onto your Lit Box?
I would like to hear what other apps (sideloaded or Android TV specific) are nice to use on this device - and can benefit a media player like this.

Besides the previously mentioned apps like DSTV NOW, Kodi, Netflix, Showmax I am also using:

Streaming media apps
Terrarium TV - This is my new favourite. I prefer this over Kodi with Covenant add-on. Much quicker and easier. Most of the streams are HD and playing smoothly on my 4MB ADSL. Love it. Wife loves it as well.
Popcorn Time - Now uninstalled - UI Looks good - but streams from P2P torrents and slower than Terrarium.

File management apps
Superbeam - This app allows you to send files from your phone (with Superbeam loaded) via your home network to your device. Quick and easy.
Google Drive & Dropbox - Well we all know these ones. :) Cloud storage. Access your files from anywhere. Even your Lit box.

Remote apps - install on your cellphone:
Android TV - Remote control for all Android TV functions. Incl mouse and keyboard functionalities.
Kore - Kodi specific remote app. Great for tv/movie playback controls.
Cetusplay - A replacement app for overall android TV control. Looks quite polished. Need to spend more time with it to see what it offers.

Hi, are there updated apps being used?
