Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

I have a problem with Telkom LIT box remote control range. The effective range is < 1m. Telkom have not been able to inform me whether or not this is standard (!).

Does anyone have experience with the Telkom LIT BOX remote? Does it really work over the length of a room like all other IR remotes?

Mine is working 2.5 metres in lounge and 4 metres in bedroom.

Mine works, fine, 2 meters from LIT box, and equally fine at 5 meters, when I switch my Son's LIT box off in the early hours of the morning, when he has fallen asleep while watching something via his LIT box.

Range is also dependent on the state of and the quality of the batteries, I have discovered.

The first thing I did was to insert fresh batteries. I need to be directly in front of the LIT box at a range of less than 1m in order to get it to work at all. Clearly there is a problem with the remote.

Armed with this information I will now visit the Telkom store.
 
Hi guys, any of you had a problem that the lit box just stuck on a black screen after the update? I've got 3 one gave no issues, the 2nd one I had to plug into my 4k TV to setup but the 3rd just stuck on a black screen with all lights on...
 
Can you write to SD card on the LIT box. I'm thinking of buying one- my Mibox doesn't allow Kodi backup app and I also cannot copy data folder to USB -very annoying.
 
So I've been battling for the past couple of hours trying to contact a store in to find out price of the Litbox and Telkom are as useless as always. No one answered the call centre and the last guy I got through (Hyde Park) couldn't help me . Does anyone know the current price of the Litbox and how to check who has stock WITHOUT trying the call center? Thanks

Bought a Litbox in December the price was R1099.00 rather go to any Telkom Direct store and they can check if other branches have stock. Telkom call centre is worthless!

You have to purchase at a Telkom Direct store. It's R1099 or ~R91 over 12 months or ~R50 over 24 months.

A friend of mine picked a lit box last week and it came with a remote that has dedicated Youtube, Netflix and a Google button with voice search. What model is this can u buy the remote sepratel,

My replacement was picked up last year November, after mine died and it does not have this remote. I have Model 11.

B10 models and later now have this new remote.

B is year (2018)
10 is month (October)

Hi guys, am I the only person on earth having a problem with the recommended apps? We've got 3 LIT boxes at home, this "annoyance" occurs on the 2 most used. I disable it daily in the customize channel menu but it keeps coming back to haunt me. Any ideas?
