Solution -
Go to language settings, and change the language to English (US) (I was on English (UK)). Suddenly GBoard was the Current Keyboard and active, and my on-screen keyboard appeared.
Now I have no idea what caused this issue - It was working fine a few weeks ago, and I don't mess around with settings when things are working. So maybe some of the MyBB boff's can add comment or explanation here.

I trust that this post will help others who find themselves in the same predicament, and won't have to spend 4 hours trying to find a solution.

Had a similar issue on a Mi-Box yesterday, visited an old gentleman friend of mine to install Spotify, and found that I had the same issue. He had Korean, Japanese and Chinese keyboard under keyboards settings, disabled them and Gboard came back.

No idea as to the cause
 
Hi guys, ok my box was busy updating then power went out. When box came back on it showed an android logo and error and went blank. Now it stays blank.... Anyway to fix it?
 
I've encounter some issues with youtube app. Sometimes, when the ad finishes or I try to skip it, the youtube I was watching won't continue to play. The screen will stay black and no button on the remote is working. The only solution is to unplug it from power to reset it. What I also notice, if you want to play this same video straight away after restart, same story, black screen and hard reset required. However, if I play anything else and come back to original video, it will play fine.
This started happening more and more.

Anyone else encountered this? Possible solutions?

I just had the voice only keyboard after selecting search in Showmax (that go to voice search by default). I then pressed right to go to text input, but instead of a onscreen keyboard I was told to use the keyboard on my phone.

Made a connection with Android TV Remote (by Google) and the keyboard popped up in the app. As I typed on my phone it searched. Worked much better than typing with the remote.
 
Got an update for my Lit Box after applying it the box reset itself and downloaded all the apps I have installed, when i use Windscribe and turn it on it says no ethernet, almost as if the driver is broken.

So for now my VPN doesn't work and I can only get internet to the box by unplugging the ethernet cable and plugging it back in or restarting the box.

I have a second LIT Box that I have not updated and Windscribe appears to be working just fine.

Please let me know if anybody else is having this issue, I reallly miss being able to watch Youtube without ads as the app made it pretty simple.
 
I can't find the setting where I can shutdown this box when pressing the power button. Even if I hold down the power button for a couple seconds, it only gives me the options of screenshot and restart, no shutdown. I prefer to give my LIT box a break and not having it on standby when not using it.
 
Looks like someone didn't do much quality control before pushing this update out

I have the same problem, I disconnected my network and switch to wifi and solved my problem with windscribe.

I can say that they have been flawless since the Android 8 update whenever that was. Even though I am in UK, I use them daily for all my TV needs.

What VPN are you using to IP into south Africa for DStv now?
 
This new update has been great for me. My LIT Box used to take around a minute to be fully usable after a cold start, but now turning the power off clearly just puts it into a sleep mode because it resumes from where it was after only a couple seconds. It's a big improvement.
 
Hi Guys, which controllers are you using to play games on the box? I have generic wired controllers that does not seem to work on the box.
 
I inadvertently upgraded my Lit box to 9.6.7. All seemed to be OK until I used the VPN to watch a British channel and it would only play adverts. It's definitely the update that has caused the problem as I have another Lit which plays perfectly. Any ideas?
