Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Hey, how do you get Amazon prime onto the box? Can't find it in the Google play store.

Could you show me a link for the version you've sideloaded please?
after loading the 9.6.7 update, it was available for me in the playstore. It could have been there before as well, hadn't looked in quite some time.

So if I update this, I will have to load all the apps I loaded before and will lose my Kodi Library?

Yes that is correct. It was such a pain to re-setup everything from scratch, plus I didn't make a backup but it was a good excuse to start with a clean slate

Just updated to 9.6.7 and yeah prime is now in the app store!

First screen that greeted me was the remote control pairing request and it went smoothly so that's a relief.

Sorry man, only saw reply now

I actually side-loaded it before l, but as the others say, it's now showing in store.

My HDR is still borked when using it though, all the other apps play HDR fine

@SeRpEnT Thanks for this link. I tried it out and it worked nicely :)

Will try it for a couple days to see if there are any issues, but so far so good

Hi, how did you get network debugging to show up, i only get usb debugging in the Developer Options , I'm on LIT A11
Thanks

For some odd reason, when I enabled USB Debugging, it activated network debugging as well. I am on A7 however, so not sure if that would make a difference. I have however done the same with other android devices and I did not have an issue

Anyone having issue with YouTube freezing after this latest update? Video freezes but sound carries on.

Not noticed and issues on YouTube yet. DSTV watching IPL last night video was going great, the commentary was coming and going the whole time, tho :(

DSTV on watching IPL again tonight has audio issues. :(

Another thing, LIT TV box now goes to standby, and does not switch off. Can this be changed?

Okay, so the audio drop out issue is also now happening in YouTube.

Audio is to a JBL 2.0 doundbar via Optic.

This after the update ...

But that standby thing is the best part of the update for me ... it just means it's always ready to go, and doesn't take AGES like it used to.

Yep, but with the weird voltage spikes and drops due to Eskom's inability to supply quality power, leaves your device open to the possibility of sudden desth 24/7. Six of one and a half dozen of the other, I suppose.

Well, I did a reset, and will see if it works better after all the updates are done - again.

No fun trying to watch something and the audio just comes and goes, every few seconds.

Will see after church, if it is fixed.

Does anyone know how to free up a bit of space on the lit box? Some apps won't update as the storage is low :/

Soft power-down offers no more protection than standby. If you really want protection against power surges, plug the unit out when not using it.

Well after a reset, audio drop outs seem to be fixed, at least those in YouTube and DSTV. Did not have time yo really test it much, but yeah, nothing on a 10 minute YouTube video, or a half hour of IPL.

Updated OS to Android Pie almost a gig update file to download and install works perfect afterwards
