Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

This is incorrect.

The contract between Telkom and Netflix does not affect the Ematic.
I can assure you that the Ematic AGT419 will continue to support Netflix and will continue to receive support from the dedicated team at Nology.

The Media box Maverick is newer technology. It's much faster than the old Mi and Lit boxes. Currently on "special"at Takealot

Thanks, if the telkom LiT box does stop supporting Netflix I'll pick up an Ematic. Too much wifi interferences where I am for the Mi Box - I need LAN connectivity.

Same here, the Mi Box sounds great until you realise there's no LAN port.
 
these were never sold as netflix capable in the first place right? we had to sideload in the beginning?

this is all very irritating.

Yes, originally the only option was to sideload, then a bit later we got an official app.

I have not yet had any notification from Telkom - are they just going to spring this on everyone at the end of the month?
 
Those who got the LIT box on two-year contract - based on the fact that it was Netflix certified - and are still under contract are going to be pissed.
