Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

anyone have the Netflix apk link to sideload?
Sideloading the Netflix APK won't work. The electronic serial number is detected by the app and the device is blocked by Netflix on the server level.
The only method that does work is the Kodi one, or so I am led to believe.

There are some older netflix apk's like v3 that doesn't do the serial check but you will need to use a mouse to navigate as it wasn't designed for ATV, that said it won't install if the previous version of Netflix isn't removed.

Anybody ell's LIT box updated to the new firmware yet?

I still don't see an update on mine.

Only the Kodi Mod will work, ESN APK does not work any longer

Haven't seen a lot of the Lit Boxes for sale, anywhere.

Netflix probably isn't such a big issue.

Personally, being Afrikaans, I would go for Showmax if I had to pay for something, and just sideload something like Cinema HD, or even do Stremio with add-ons, and not the whole Kodi thing.

Will do Kodi for DstvNow though for certain reasons if needed.

The Netflix-free firmware is being pushed out this Friday.

You will get a notification for the GOTA 9.6.14 update being available. Just follow the prompts and you will get it.

Be aware that your unit will be reset to factory.

Awesome thanks for the feedback

@killerbyte - previous OTA updates have semi-bricked my LIT box, something to do with my TV set being too old to cope with the default resolution after the update. Last time I had to send the box up to you guys to sort it.

1. Will the upcoming pushed update cause the same problem?
2. Can I safely ignore/avoid the upcoming pushed update?

You would likely have the same issue.
You can ignore this update, just be aware that Netflix will remain installed on your box.
