I guess money, cause this gives them opportunity for another revenue stream to have lisencing fees added for manufacturers and operators
 
Manufacturers should refuse & see how many customers they loose.

I also suppose one of the other reasons is quality of service making sure the devices that is certified can play the streams at higher quality without glitches cutting down on support calls

But even the cheapest Windows laptop can stream Netflix, regardless of ability to stream smoothly! The Android limitation is just an artificial power-play and money-grabbing opportunity, because they can...

Cheap Android Boxes are another issue
 
I want to use my Xiaomi mi smart speaker as the audio output for my LIT box, but I just can't figure out how to do it. The smart speaker has Bluetooth, WiFi and chromecast.

I would really appreciate it if someone could assist.

You should be able to pair the speaker as a bluetooth device. What model of LIT do you have?

Speaker has to be in "pairing" mode I believe. No idea how that is achieved with that speaker.

I have one Bluetooth speaker (volkano) that just won’t pair with the lit box. The speaker and the lit box pairs and connects with everything else so I was stumped. Eventually just gave up.
 

Should work I have my gaming earphones paired with my one LIT no problem.

Another thing to perhaps try is go to
settings
Apps
Show all apps
System apps
Look for Bluetooth
Force stop
Clear cash and data
Reboot device

Then try pairing it again you also might need to re pair your remote.

Thank for the suggestions, unfortunately it doesn't work.
