Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

How does one link the remote again?
Reinstalled an old LitBox for one of my boys (Youtube / Stremio) but cannot get the remote to connect. What's trick again?

Not sure, but I think it is center round button, an left volume down button, should show it on the screen

Check that the batteries are good.

Looked through the old thread... need the lil usb dongle. This was the previous version of the remote (non bluetooth) which connected via the usb dongle.
Now to search the house for that lil thingie... *sigh*

The app remote on phone however works ok in the meanwhile.

OOOOF!!!!!

Good luck with that - hopefully, it is still in the same drawer/box the LIT box was stored in. Holding thumbs for you.

Okay, does anyone know if you can cast Netflix from a phone to a Telkom LIT box.

If it's possible than I can help an old lady out by giving her the LIT box to make her TV "smart" and she can cast from her phone to the LIT box.

Thanks

Nope!

Eish!

Was expected, so I cannot pass the LIT box on then, which means I will probably have to buy a MI-BOX or Nova and gift that.

Was hoping to avoid that if possible as I have just had to spend a fortune on my car, first the electronics then the radiator then the gearbox.

Ah well, that is unfortunate.

Thanks.

Why don’t you get a used something ? Even an older Ematic or 1080 stick?

I’ve seen a few go on here at decent pricing

I'm sitting here watching Netflix in Kodi. It works really well if you know Kodi addons and how they work.

(on a Lit Box)

If it was for my own use, I would do that, but this is for, an elderly lady, and Kodi would be a bridge too far for her.

If Netflix could be cast, on the LIT box, I would be willing to beat my head against the wall a few times to explain to her how that worked.

The LIT Box is spare, and she has a "free shared Netflix account, on her phone and a non-smart TV.

Will see what I can do for her.

Suggestion is appreciated tho.

Thanks all

You can make Kodi auto start an add-on. So all she has to do is open Kodi and it goes straight to Netflix.

Try Eddy Wolmarans at Nology, they might have a remote or 3 lying around:

Apologies for Necro'ing an old thread, I am having an issue with my LIT box (Version B05), when I try to connect ProtonVPN to any server, it seems to kill my Ethernet connection, so that ProtonVPN just sits there saying "waiting for usable network" and a popup comes up saying Ethernet disconnected on the LIT box. If I enable Wi-Fi, ProtonVPN works fine, immediately connects to whichever server I select, but I would prefer to use Ethernet as it is obviously faster and more stable (less buffering, in other words). Thanking you in advance.

Some of the comments suggest workarounds, perhaps even a solution:
