Hi Guys,

Thanks for the help. Whats the best way to actaully get the package? I see they have an online process where guys come and test it for you.

Can you just go to a telkom store and get it ?

Thanks

my suggestion would be to just go into the store, i have also tried the website and they never get back to you, at the store you actually get some service.. well sometimes... but it's a better bet than the website!

Dont bother calling - they will not answer. I went in to the Tygervalley store in November to order LTE contract. Still waiting for the device. Don't feel like driving in everytime to listen to their excuses.

Like cobusv said, you need to physically go to the store if you want any service from them.

You are in LTE-Advanced coverage, but not in the Unlimited LTE coverage, so jman's suggestion won't work - http://www.telkom.co.za/today/unlimited-broadband/

The best option is the LTE-A 50Gb deal, you can then take advantage of the increased performance of LTE-A and 50Gb is reasonable - LTE-A 50Gb

If you have a Telkom store close by then try going there,

As many have confirmed, you can sign up for the unlimited LTE deal in a location that isn't yours, like work for example. As long as where you intend to use it has LTE coverage, it will work.

My old man got it for his house which is within the deal area, and brought it over to my house, which isn't, but has LTE coverage and it worked flawlessly

Correct, but, I have had a few friends try that and the application didn't go through due to internal processes and checks.

I for instance am also using the service in another location, I was lucky. I didn't want to recommend the service knowing that the user might not get it, but sure, its worth a try.

Hi Guys,

Just want to confirm. If I get the LTE at a location in JHB and then use the device in CT - will there be issues?

Also, I dont really need any super-fast speeds, its for a spare flat I Airbnb.

I would just like some sort of uncapped, or large cap at a decent price. Or I should I go ADSL ?

Thanks.

It will work as long as you use it on Telkom LTE.

As far as my testing goes these are the only hard limits Telkom imposes on these simcards. No internet access on 2G and 3G be it on net or roaming. Only access to LTE maybe LTE-A too but I did not test.

When you apply they check coverage for the address you supplied. They default that as your home address to bypass that just say you want your own physical address on the account as you are buying it for your parents or a relative. They will ask you also where you would like to have the stuff couriered.

Done and dusted. You get your package without the need to supply ANY false info.
