I think the problem is monochoice probably has exclusivity contracts with the major providers/studios which doesnt leave much for the rest. Contracts dont last forever though.
 
You will be overcharged for the minimum service and the most problems.............. enough said
 
This is a perfectly good example of cross-subsidization. The good money you pay for bad service is now going to be wasted on bad quality movies. Why didn't they just buy the SABC? It would probably be cheaper!

If it brings down the price of a DsTV subscription it may be worthwhile.
 
On DSTV they mostly show DSTV commercials. What commercials will Telscum show? Imagine a 2 minute Telscum advert ever 10 minutes. No thanks I will pass.

But 'on the other hand' maybe this will force DSTV to lower prices.
 
I don't think they in it to lower prices.. I mean we are talking about Telkom right? btw didn't the SABC sign a deal with WB? when does that come into effect?
 
If I read the press release correctly it seems there will be two services Sattellite aimed at the market DSTV does not cater too ie. the lower end of the market and IPTV for the higher end of the market. The IPTV service may actually give DSTV a run for its money if it is done properly with good series and movies on demand...
