Will we ever see/experience free free in SA without some fine print?

How cheap can you get! It's just R1 and you can download anything you want as long as as it's within an hour from your initial login. I've been using it to update my smartphone apps and a few 1080p Youtube video downloads, all for a rand.

In a press release issued during the event, Telkom Mobile said that the hotspots can be found in a number of venues around the country, from large chains to smaller “mom and pop” outlets.

These include: Primi Piatti, King Pie, McDonald’s, Hungry Lion, Wimpy, Steers, Chesanyama, and Ocean Basket.

Why not Spur or Dros? :(
 
Am I reading this wrong or do you have to SMS to get a password for every session (hour long and 1/day) ?
 
Whining over nothing has become a normal routine in this forum. After reading the article I knew there will be some one or more Boozoos complaining about the R1 SMS. I don't know what people expect in this world.
 
Value for money a pity that I cannot access it from my house :P If only that were possible would save me tons of cash :P than spending it on a meal/coffee everyday :)

This has been around for quite sometime at first didn't understand why I should SMS. When connecting to WiFi (SSID) Telkom had a splash screen/landing page that request you to sms and you will be provided with credentials
