Telkom Mobile New Contract Procedure

Hi ,

I ordered a new contract over the phone on 27 Nov and was "pre-approved" at that stage. This was the first time I've dealt with Telkom Mobile and was not too bad. My issues started straight after that day trying to get some sort of feedback from anyone at Telkom. I assumed that I would have my phone in 2 weeks time which was probably stupid from my end but using other operators as reference I don't think its an unreasonable timeframe.The problem is that I'm going on holiday so not having someone be able to accept delivery will probably cause a massive admin problem judging by the experience so far. Tried facebook , didn't help, all you get is the generic "Sorry for the delay" no actual substance. So a week later (4 Dec) I received an SMS stating they are debiting R949.00 off my account , seeing this I got on the phone and held for 90 minutes and finally got to talk to someone who I explained the situation to and also requested to cancel the order since I planned on starting again in Jan after the holidays. The cancellation was sent through to whoever handled the sale. It's 2 days later now and the funds have gone off and I got an sms saying the order is being processed.

After the whole story , what I'm asking is :
1. Has anyone tried to cancel an order at this stage of the process?
2. Are they just ignoring the cancellation request?
3. Are they going to debit me again on the 27th which is the normal debit order day?

Go to telkom store.. not express. Get assistance from the manager to resolve..
