Telkom mobile

I’m using one of the data only packages and it works very well.

Depends on your location and whether the package permits roaming.

If you are in a TM zone then it works very well...

I use TM for my voice calls, which also roams on MTN.

I love what they offer in terms of data. Almost all contracts come with 500mb and I see they pushing it up to 1GB.

Vodacoms data allocation is pathetic. Ive got 4 contracts with TM and im happy with all of them. Eyeing a 5th - Huawei P7 with 1gb,50min,wifi etc for R279.

@marine have you considered investing in a LTErouter R1499 available @ edgars or cna... Test their network at your premises with the router...

In my home some bedrooms have weak signal. Rather buy a prepaid sim card and test their service before porting over. Rather be safe than signing your life way

Very good idea. Thanks .
But also wanted to know about voice. Really have had it with Vodacom and their overpriced crap

Screw them with their insane data and **** voice
Contract is up next month friend at TM said he will help and give me a S6 Edge and the prices are amazing

After being with vodacon for 19 years now.

I have considered and am considering moving all of my contracts over to Telkom Mobile.

Just the rigmarole of doing that whole proof of address, proof of income, bank statements.. Was considering moving to MTN last year actually, But when they weren't very helpful with the porting process I said eff u lol.

Am on the smart 100 plan....don't worry about data and R100 for R100 mins. Kept my voda number as backup on prepaid

Standard advice that we all recommend...

Test signal before you port. Get a prepaid SIM, load a rhond or two and test it.

Beware: TM uses a different frequency so don't assume that your existing devices will be okay.

I have a smart plan 100 and an internet promo 5 contract. I can't complain about the smart plan, calls always work, and 5gb of data on a phone is almost unbeatable. I do have to switch to MTN's network when at university, this is fine for calls, but sucks for data.

My internet promo 5 is my home data connection. I love the amount of data for the price, but speeds have been slowing, and I've had a few connection issues lately.

Telkom's biggest problem is customer service. It takes way too long to get anything done with them. Their deals are really good though.
