Free Airtime can't buy data.Telkom says it can. Am I doing something wrong or bs marketing?

Telkom More - You cannot purchase data bundles with the free airtime. However, if you run out of data, the Out-of-Bundle rate will be deducted from the free airtime, which is charged at R0.29c/MB.

Or you can buy a FreeMe 500mb package and use the R69 free airtime for calls to other networks. Free Airtime only last for 7 days though but still works out to be a killer deal.
