Axxess and Africahost data works on prepaid sims as well.

Like I said the fail is people not understanding what their options are. The AH options aren't bad, but there definitely isn't that much new that they offer.

Cell C Giga200 package was around for couple years for around R1800. In November/December it was selling for R999. It is less than 1c/MB. It doesn't need rollover, as is valid for one year. When finished, load another one.

One warning: There are still packages with old SIM - it can't connect to LTE tower, you must do SIM-swap immediately for USIM, a blue one (paid R10). Cell C LTE feed is very stable, using for 3 months, haven't got any problem.

Axxess mobile data can only be bolted to an existing Mtn contract or a Axxess DATA ONLY sim.

Fail. Current Giga200 price is R1799 and Cell C big data bundles are not comparable as they do not allow roaming on the Vodacom towers, not feasible to use other than from a fixed location like work/home if you know you have 3G/Lte Cell C towers within range at those locations.

So what currently available options are comparable or better than Afrihosts, obviously with voice and data on one sim, I can't find anything to beat Afrihost and I scoured what is available?

Cell C LTE coverage limited now, but 3G is countywide, you can't say it is for a fixed location only. It is a cheapest package for now and nothing is wasted due to the one year expiry period. Only Telkom unlimited LTE can be cheaper, but then we talk about much bigger usage and it is a fixed-location service on contracts.

Besides, have you ever been in school? Cell C Giga200 at current R1799 goes 0.9c/MB or 3.5c/MB (when disregarding night portion) and your sales speech calculates as (R99-R40)/1024MB = 5.8c/MB. It is already more expensive, not counting that you would typically use 70-50% of the monthly allocation. So don't use big buzzwords like 'Fail' as it only gives evidence about your mindset.

I am sure you can still find old Giga200 packs @R999, if you look around. If you can't find it, it is your 'Fail' as it was officially available for two months @R999.

Axxess mobile and Afrihost mobile can be bolted to an MTN contract, a MTN prepaid or their own sims.

All you are doing is just proving how stupid the average South African are.

Show me on the Axxess website where it says their Mobile Data bundles can be bolted onto a Mtn prepaid sim, I'll be very interested to see this.

Lol, Cell C 3G network coverage can't even remotely be compared to Mtn's, FULL ON FAIL.

The Cell C 3G network is pitiful outside of built up urban areas, without Vodacom 3G roaming it's a proper shiithole of a network.

Maybe your idea of a jol is trying to flatten your 50gb Cell C data bundle on Edge and don't forget to stay up until past midnight to use the other 150gb. Have fun gloating to everyone how "cheap" it is.

Well back to the issue at hand, as I originally stated Afrihost prepaid is a good option and it appears Axxess is also available to prepaid sims for Data. Axxess has cheaper bundles albeit with 3 months rollover vs Afrihosts 12 months and it's offered as a month to month contract vs Afrihosts true once-off prepaid bundles.

Now your posts look better...
Not so long ago MTN had interesting and very little known feature of extending expiry date when a new bundle was purchased. It made effectively non-expiry data with a little care. Never used it as MTN in my area barely allows voice calls and don't know whether it is still in place. Just let you know.
 
Here's the official line from Axxess, they don't in fact support prepaid sims with their Mobile Data, which is why it's no where on their website, it does sometimes work though it appears.
