Telkom negotiating triple-play partnership

It is high time we go back to the days of actively standing up to Telkom here like we used to.
They are just using this site as yet another marketing tool IMO :mad:
What a let down (if this is to be the big announcement)
 
Oh FFS this is beyond a joke now. Call me when Telkom announce the 10 meg lines in the year 2262
 
What did you guys expect? This is ****kom we're dealing with. Don't expect any kind of upgrade announcement later today. Telkom are simply not capable of doing anything good. I'v stopped believing all the lies, and I don't pay attention to all the hype. And what makes it even more sad is that THERE IS ***OLL we can do about it. We just have to sit back, lube up and get smashed. That's just how the cookie crumbles.
 
If this is all Telkom does today and there are no line speed increases, I WILL DRIVE DOWN TO THE LOCAL TELKOM OFFICE AND BURN THE PLACE DOWN. Yes I am that crazy!
 
I would suggest that myBB organise a protest in every city at telkom offices, but not even that would help.

The primary reason was the recapitalisation of Multilinks Nigeria and the related impairment of over R5bn to reflect them at zero net asset value!!! What the hell are they doing in Nigeria????
 
Guys just relax... Wait til the end of the day, before you send your blood pressure through the roof!!! There's nothing you can do to change things for now... so whining won't help.

Comparing SA to UK or USA etc, is myopic. Those countries have a far higher broadband penetration, due to higher GDP per capita, and average literacy being way higher. Uncapped ADSL works much like Inusurance, the normal users (mojority) pay for the heavy users (minority). And until there's more and more people on board, we'll never come close to any of the first world countries. NEVER!!! It just won't be profitable!
 
Telkom are still waiting for the compression technology that will allow them to compress a film into 50mb so that their ISP customers can watch more than one movie a month through their triple play offering.
 
Pidgeons have a fledging period of 30 days - so obviously it will take some time for Telkom to create a large enough work force to give us 10Mbps. They have cited personnel shortage as a problem before...
 
Fuk Telkom this is why FIBRE-CABLE internet is the key, this way it doesn't matter if you are miles away from the 'exchange', NEOTEL is f'n useless as well.
