In December 2018 and now this month (January 2019) my telkom anytime data was used during night surfer time I queried Telkom on twitter and there response was treating me like a noob
Asking if I'm a lte area. Firstly why ask for my id number to check my account surely my length of contract would be available to them. And they have not responded back after this twitter interactionScreenshot_20190116-183025.png

Okay, firstly how did you answer their question? Are you on Telkom LTE or is your device roaming on another network?

Telkom has agreements with other networks to allow their customers access (thereby increasing the coverage area) but the night data only applies to usage on Telkom's network.

I don't see your answer to their question.

It's on the attached screen shot, where I say I am in a covered area and have been for years. Like I said its just this past 2 months it's happened

Confirm in your router setup page that you are connected to Telkom and not MTN or Vodacom (they are migrating to Vodacom so it could be one or the other).

Send the SMS as they mentioned and double check your coverage on the map again. It may have changed. Sometimes operators move towers and you could be roaming without knowing it.

I have two telkom sim cards one in my phone and one in my router when I am at home I can see when I am roaming or not. Like I said its a recent glitch and I have gone on other forums and read that sometimes the switchover (day to night) does not happen unless the router is rebooted. Please understand this is not a signal issue it's simply a switchover glitch on their side. I have the huawei link app to monitor signal (lte/lte-A/hspa). The post was simply about them giving a generic response to problem
