TELKOM - no estimation for completion!

so the entire 909 area in cape town is down since Saturday. so I wander into telkom to find out what's wrong. cable theft. no problem with that, it happens. what mystifies me is that they can't tell you when it will be fixed!!!! its been 3 days, how can't you know when it will be fixed?? in what other industry would this be acceptable? and you can't get the ADSL anywhere else. the hellkom monopoly strikes again!
 
I can also foretell the future, pretty good at it too. Maybe I should sell my services to Telkom so they can give clients eta on everything.
 
if you get a work assignment your boss asks you how long it will take. he can then tell his client when they can expect the completed request. you don't need to be a fortune teller just professional.
 
Yes I just called the network maintenance section for my area in GP.
The guy seemed reasonable. Said he'd get back to me.
 
Noticed internet was mysteriously back on yesterday. Was gone for a week!
 
Going on a month for similar issues man, keep getting people telling me that they are on / looking into it / sending someone / etc and nothing has happened.
