Telkom: our pricing is competitive

Politics

This is typical comming from a polititian before a election. Is Telkom a political party? ...... Oh sorry there are no promisis???

I am in month 23 of a 24 month contract with Telkom. Will definitely terminate my service with TelkomInternet when the 24 month contract is up.

Will only keep the ADSL line portion with Telkom. I am already with Afrihost for the bulk of my bandwidth needs.

This Telkom PR pollack needs to explain how he came to his conclusion. All the surveys I have read put Telkom right at the top of the list when it comes to expensive DSL services. Clearly, he has cherry-picked some part of this report and used that to provide his argument.

@Chayd:
Are you a Telkom troll or have you been in deep sleep for the last 5 years?

If they are gaining customers, they must be doing something right.

Globally competitive you say?

Let us have a look at a broadband company in the UK shall we?

Wow! Look at that! 10 Pounds gets you a 20meg connection speed, which is UNLIMITED plus UNLIMITED ANYTIME CALLS

Oh no, I see small print :(

You have to add 11.50 Pounds for line rental :(

That means that for R234.29 I only get a 20meg, uncapped, unlimited calls all-in-one deal if I am in the UK. :(

Gee whiskers, I am so glad that Telkom are "globally competitive", otherwise I'd be really upset right now!

Telkom is the Government, they will not change anything until they see fit, this is the power of corruption and monopoly and a weak society.

where did the 3% statistic come from.... charlie and the guess factory.

That can actually be true, but I limited my uploading torrents when I get close to my national cap and I stop downloading. I don't exceed because I am carefull, I actually need much more.

Is that 3% per user or per account per month? I am sure almost everyone exceeded their cap atleast once...

For someone with a doctorate he spews a lot of ignorant, uninformed bull****.

Why is it cheaper for my to phone London from Cape Town, reroute that call back to Johannesburg during peak hours, than it is for me to simply PHONE Johannesburg straight up from Cape Town?

Competitively priced? I can't really find ANY provider overseas that doesn't offer some kind of triple play WITH voice AND data (minimum 2mbps uncapped) for something they charge ONLY rental for... seriously? SERIOUSLY?

IPLC prices have come down by 90% over the last five years while Diginet pricing decreased by over 50% in real terms over the same period

In plain english: The consumer was assr@ped in the past without vaseline, now they get a free dab of vaseline.

Pinky has already failed as the CEO of telkc*ck, her first mistake was not firing this moron. Her second mistake is allowing this nonsense to be published. Telkom FAIL. Does not matter which CEO takes over. Telkom will continue to fail. But what do they care? they are after all, the ONLY fixed line operator in South Africa. They still hold the monopoly. They will not change unless a SNO enters the market. And after seeing Neofail, they have nothing to worry about. Telkom will continue raping our anal love holes. Let's all just lube up, and stfu, cuz thats the only thing we can do at this stage.

Edit: is it just me or does this Armstrong character look like a pedofile?

+100
and how can Telkom hope to compete, if they're (probably?) the only ones in the world using Copper instead of Fibre.

Ok I get it. Telkom is about a week late with their own April Fool's joke! They're late with everything else, why not his too? ;-)

Where did Telkom find this Dr Brian Armstrong Fool ?

When you have to justify and prove you are competitive, it means you aren't.

Where did Telkom find this Dr Brian Armstrong Fool ?

The same scrap heap where all our telecomms service providers seem to be finding their top brass? Well either that or they looked for the guy who scored next highest in woodwork after Juju

ICASA please take back our local loop from these baffoons! Give it to a company with some vision. Telkom is still stuck in PO mode.

Bwahahaha... I vote this Article for Best April Fool's joke not released on April 1st! :D

Seriously, could these morons be more out of touch with reality?
It's almost like they are releasing stupid articles now to actually be sadistic.

“We win more customers than we lose,” said Armstrong as a way of proving that they are competitively priced and are not profiteering.

Shame,.... (shakes head in disbelief) :wtf:
