Telkom SDSL Etherlink now available

Telkom was asked for feedback about their new Etherlink SDSL service, but the company did not provide feedback by the time of publication.

Yup, this is what happens when you run a monopoly.. you can just wipe your @s$ while the press market your junk for you... no work required. If I ran a business I would make sure I get a good word in with the press to make sure this is marketed well, but nooo not telscum. They couldn't care less.

Well, this is exactly where the product is being aimed, but instead of transporting syncronous serial data from point-to-point, it does Ethernet frames.

I don't see them offering the same SLAs on dsl technology they would on Diginet/Martis which is more robust and better designed/implemented within the company.

Edit: Well I'm wrong I have to say, I have been enlightened by a higher force.

for the average man this doesn't mean anything usefull

on dsl technology
Both Diginet & Etherlink are port-to-port bit transport services over copper, whereby Telkom deploy the on-site terminating equipment on both ends (Diginet=NTU, Etherlink=Router). They fact that they happen to use SDSL for the local loops of Etherlink is inconsequential from a customer perspective, as one has no visibility or control beyond the access port.

Probably would have been less confusing if Telkom withheld the fact that SDSL was being used as part of the Etherlink service.

And still no details as regard availability and pricing.
