Telkom Speed upgrades

Says my area max speed is 1Mbps. I have been on 2 for the past year and have just been bumped to 4 and have no problems.
Mine does, and the support person didn't know what a profile change was.. :wtf:

What are those very narrow blue and green telkom boxes? Saw a few in my neighbourhood still with wires sticking out of them. I know Telkom is busy with vDSL in my area, are those fiber points maybe?

None announced new data deals but some have stated that they will not increase their data pricing with the Telkom free upgrades.
I'm also waiting for these new data announcements, Afrihost stated expect an announcement towards the end of next week
Call Telkom first ask for profile upgrade then check on router to ensure you have been upgraded then contact ISP to move to 4mb data plan

Meh - my router is syncing at 15Mbps...but that damn mini dslam UNC is only rated at 4mb...

I am very very confused we have a 1 meg line that was definatley upgraded to a 2 meg line with the free upgrades a year or so ago (the reason I know this is that I was with afrihost at the time & getting line speeds way above 1 meg) I then moved to mweb (don't shoot me) along with my line 7 since then never got speeds over 1 meg although I was still sure that I had a 2 meg line - I phoned telkom today to find out if I had possibly been upgraded to the 4 meg line & they told me I only have a 1 meg line - so why is it a 1 meg when it should at least be a 2 meg line?

I had similar issue as you during the first scheduled upgrades. I applied for a 1mb line with mweb managing line and data. And when the upgrades happened about a over a week later I didn't understand why I was not on 2mb.
Upon investigation I discovered that mweb had put me forth for a 384 line and not the 1mb line as requested because they where aware of the upgrades scheduled and about to take place a week later. Resulting in me then moving to 1mb instead of 2mb!
When I discovered that I cancelled everything with mweb and moved my line to be managed by Telkom directly and moved to OW as ISP.
