I think this article is absolutely spot on, Telkom desperately needs to diversify its income streams...
Also having a "complete" ICT solution means the Telkom could work smarter in the consumer space as well actually, so it ultimately COULD be good for the consumer as well.
Next time I'm in J'bay we must have a coffee or beer!BCX purchase for Telkom would be vital for Telkom as a general operator in the telecommunications and data services industry BUT it simply isn't enough to secure Telkom's survival. For Telkom to survive it has to sort out Telkom the owner of a big pile of fibre and the largest copper mine in South Africa - you own a copper mine, use it before the thieves dig it all up and sells it to China. [And yes I mean Telkom owns a kak load of physical copper which needs to be put to use, rather than that they own an actual copper mine]
