When rumors go around about a good change in the adsl fee's or service, it nevers happens.
But when rumors go around about a bad change, it always happens.
Now how does that work?
I am also sure you all know that telkom downsized to get more money, now they in way over their heads and to few people to get jobs done. If they got 1 million sign ups for dsl all at once, would they be able to install all those lines with in a year. I really don't think so. Now that would be one reason why they CAN'T lower the prices and it's their fault. If they didn't downsize, they would be able to have a lot more dsl us and would be able to lower their prices and make a considerably larger profit.
Now how is this the governments fault? If they were forced to lower prices, their sign ups would be too high and they wouldn't be able to cope. They would overload the whole infrastructure to save money and the service and speeds will be even slower. So telkom made a few mistakes in the past and it's not the governments fault.
So in the end they shot themselves in the foot.![]()
qwagga said:Firstly I would like to apologize for hitting on you as you are not the only guilty party, but I don’t care.
youradsl said:We are still waiting for your solution though. I'm glad that you are happy with the state of adsl, crime, etc in this county.
As for a go at me – I can’t give a ****. You go on about the porn or whatever. I don’t really need much more than 3GIG most of the time for my work, but others does.’
Who the hell do you think you are telling them they can’t complain – it’s their right to complain if something (ADSL) are ridiculously priced and capped?
You keep saying come up with a solution, but we’re still waiting for yours as I’m sure you have one. Or are you like those idiot politicians that will say stuff like “We should stop world poverty, etc” – all good and noble and we all know that but it will help if they can give as a good solution.
If you read through my post you will see not too much complaining but I can tolerate others that need more bandwidth than me complaining, what I can’t tolerate is idiots that that jump on a high horse say stupid stuff like “come up with a solution”, but don’t have a single solution themselves.
Complaining people are definitely not the reason that so few people have ADSL – pricing and caps are – If you can’t see that it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee mate.
So please in your next post come up for a solution for them, but not something as stupid as “go for 3G or Iburst”
youradsl said:11 and still going - I think I'm nearing the end.
youradsl said:A usage monitor wont make a dif if you're with Telkom as you don't know when you'll get capped - I'm on 8 now and still going strong.
youradsl said:Well, I've done my share of downloading TV shows, etc, but to say it's legal- are you guys dreaming?
youradsl said:The bad thing is that prices will never and can’t ever be the same as "international standards" - it's a shame that sooner or later all of us will have to realise that.
youradsl said:It' a public forum, yes where you can let you hair down, etc, though I wont advise any business to do it in a manner that you did.
For one - SAOL has lost me as a possible future client, just because of this thread, and I’m sure I’m not the only one
Is it so hard to just let it go now? You’re obviously doing more damage than good..
youradsl said:.. thought I might be capped as I know it the correct password...
youradsl said:Silly question, but how do you know when you're capped. Do you get a specific error message. Does it still connect but you can't browse? (Saix - Telkom).
It's people with this kind of attitude that doesn’t contribute at all - you just accept everything as it is. Believe me those moaners are contributing way more than you.qwagga said:If everyone is so unhappy about the state of dsl, why don’t you move to another service (3g, iburts …….).
This was a great oneqwagga said:Shame, your poor ego! Did it take a nock? It would also seem that you can not read (as I never said I have a solution to your pathetic problems).
Let me guess, you are the same guy that gets bad food (adsl in your case) in a restaurant, kicks up a noise but still eats and pays the bill. Other more intellectual customers will leave, never to return. They will go to another shop, more exclusive where they can enjoy themselves (lets call it 3G or any other service). They pay more but have fewer hassles.
If you don't like something, don't use it. Even animals that is supposedly less intellectual that you adhere to these "laws". Bit then again ............

No. 1 problem with ADSL in SA. Why in the name of Cthulu is it more expensive and less useful than dialup?qwagga said:l am glad to see that you are still only seeing problems. Let us recap on the “burning” issues. The problems with Telkom are: high prices (but still lower that 3G, thanks for clearing that up.), slow installation times and throughput (only 1gig for 3G). Two of these topics have been discussed the last 24 months. Prices have gone down (still not good). The latest complaint is capping. If you use more throughput buy it. Most users here get through on 3gigs. Maybe if you stop downloading piracy music/software/games and porn your cap would not be a problem. If I am wrong on the previous statement (and I doubt it) and you have a business, start managing your employees on downloading.
youradsl said:This was a great oneAt least now I can see why you keep going on about this, you are too stupid too make an intellectual comparison. Let me try to explain it too you in your language:
If I want a steak (ASDL like you say) and I'm not happy with it I have 100s of other restaurants that can provide me with another better steak, in case of ADSL you don’t have an option of restaurants (providers) you can only get your steak from Telkom - remember we only have one steak (ADSL) provider. I love idiots like you it make life worth living by giving one a good laugh.
I’m glad that you are happy with your steak as it is; most of us always want something better out of life.
I mean with a statement like this:
Some people need it they don't have a choice...
What next if government decides water will be R100 per litre from now on you will probably just say: "If you don’t like it don’t drink anything” cause that seems to be your solution to everything...?
