TelkomCLOSER Plan 4 & 5

im gona move to plan 5 definitely........atm i got 4mbps line at 516 and closer 3 at 300......so im paying 816 pm when i can be paying 699 :D
 
Moving to plan 4 as soon as i can get my dad + Call centre on the line at the same time..[he never wants to speak with them] and line is in his name.

Do you think the 1024 line in plan 5 will still get that bump up to 4mbps? It doesn't seem that way to me from what I've read
 
hmm... Plan 5 sounds good.
I'm currently on 512 so I might try it out with 1024 for december.

yeah i thought the same thing at first, but spoke to ziglet who has plan 5 and they upgraded him to 4mbps.......so hopefully my line speed wil stay untouched :cool:
 
Well just went to sign up for plan5. Apparently they want to do the conversion first from my speed (384) to 1024 and ONLY THEN will they start the closer plan. They swore high and low that I won't get charged for the conversion but I have this gut feeling... :( Apparently I'm not paying for the techie to come to my house; hmmm seeing is believing

And they recon the conversion takes 30 days. Why the hell does it take 30 days to change the line speed, doesn’t make sense to me, but I will have to see, hopefully they come to the party. I know the technicians chaps manager personally here in my town, so I can maybe do a little arm twisting there ;)

Signed up for Closer Plan 4, been 2 weeks now still nothing, but in 2 hours time, i will be phoning them constantly till i see some results.

I am gatvol to say the least, cause our R7 plan got cancelled, cause it cant work in conjunction with Closer Plan 4, but in the mean time we are now supposed to wait....pffft. Enough is enough.

This ends today !!! :mad:

LOL hopefully i will get some answers, wish me luck :D
 
Ye im shure the trail will end soon since it was only ment to happen for a few months.. But what i think will happen is that they, give all the current 1meg users 4meg line, 512 > 1meg , 384k to 512k.. Most proberly..

Telkom have now included two additional plans in their CLOSER package.. For R499 you get everything in plan 3, as well as DSL Up to 384kb (so you save R46 p/m in ADSL line rental), and in plan 5 you get DSL Up to 1024kb for R699 (so you save... R117 p/m in ADSL line rental)

Anyone upgraded to the new plans yet?

Yes, I ordered mine last week. I upgraded from closer oprion3 to closer option 4. it's worth it now that it is R46 chaeaper. I was waiting for adsl to come a bit closer to my costs on VM and it has.
