TelkomInternet Local Uncapped

It would be a dream if ISP's could split their local from international. example IS accounts that you first need to be capped international the you can use the local.

Gaming would be such a dream!!!

Yipp and you would be able to better use of your internet connection! :D The internet would be a better place! :p

I notice on the TI tracker today that int and local downloads is reflecting correctly on the tracker.

Could it be that Telkom is finally not counting local towards the cap?

Last month nothing local which I downloaded reflected on my local usage on the tracker until I was capped at 2,6gigs. Only after being capped did any local downloads reflect.

oh michealreef, I download because I like to watch the lights on my router flash ... ALOT! keeps me entertained.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it put massive strain on Telkom's equipment if active local/international switching was enabled?
It would be ideal though, especially for online gaming. Authenticate to the COD4 server via international and the moment you connect to the SAIX COD4 server it switches back to local and back to international to update your profile and back to local when you shoot the n00b on SGS and back to internat.....etc, etc

Like I said in the other thread I dl that local torrent on the 31st going into the 1st of January so maybe Im talking a load of bs.

Nope, not for me :(

Well at least the 400mb that I dl local on the 31st that was carried over to Jan(forgot to close my torrent proggie) is reflected under local for January so it did not count towards my 2gig for this month.

That was probably due to the fact that your router still had the 165.xxx address. I had the same case, albeit only 2.3MB.

I also kept the local 165.xxx alive till now:

Blended Usage for January
Uploaded 0.0 MB
Downloaded 0.0 MB
Combined Total 0.0 MB
TopUp Purchased for January 0 GB

Blended Current Active Sessions
Connection 1 0.0 MB Last refreshed @14:17

Local Usage for January
Uploaded 61.0343 MB
Downloaded 3.373 GB
Combined Total 3.4326 GB

But don't get excited, now that I am on 41.xxx, local will count towards the cap.
