Just thought since some of you guys are now on a 4Mbit line you will be capped already :D
 
nope, we not on yet, only from 24:00 ( i hope) ... im very exited ... :)
 
Well my first 'month' of adsl was amazing :) In 2 weeks i did 7 gigs :)
Whos gonna give me a noddy badge?
 
I did about the same, but I used alot more when I had my 4Mbit line in the states.
 
The problem is that the guys with the 4mb lines will eat up the pool and leave the rest of us short :(
 
Lol yeah, my first month of adsl was cool too. Got almost 100gb this month =D

Yeah - im not looking forward to that :( I was just gettin happy with my 384kbps and the 8 or so gigs ive done.il probably be capped at 2 or 3 gigs from September?

What do you guys think? People will still get 10 gigs off thier 3 gig accounts?
 
Personally , i think more and more ppl will start to use their 3gig cap up, and quickly. Not leaving any extra gigs free for other users in the pool to use.
 
Telkom are gonna revise the cap soon I am sure. So wont be too stressed.
 
By Saturday afternoon after the reset, this threads gonna be hectic methinks when first capped users report. BTW how mny gigs can you pull in one 24hr session on 4mb?
 
damit, I worked this out. Let me find that post again

4096 / 8.8 = 465.45kb per second x 60 x 60 / 1024 / 1024 = 1.59GB per hour x 24 = 38.31GB per day x 30 (average) = 1.12 TB per month (less 15% would be a good estimate)
 
well its not uncapped, its random cap. If you read on one of todays articles Papi said they are going to revise the cap aswell. These things need to be done very soon. Neotel is getting ready for launch of more services soon, Telkom need to keep clients. Things wont get worse than it currently is, put it that way
 
OH Holy SHIITE@ IM capped!

Oh its not 24H00 Yet, Telkom did not reset yet, was capped the last week! First time since intro, after only 8Gb download in a few days! Lucky for me I have a Sat link too!
 
rofl@ pupa.. poor guy... um, got a question. Do you know you capped after 24 hour reset? I presume I was capped at 00:00, but I stil had till 16:00 cause thats when I dialled the previous day. That means the 2GB I downloaded was basically while I was capped.... correct?

Telkom cant go at 13:24 you are now capped.. it happens at midnight right, then only comes into affect when you try dial again?
 
I cant find it, I read so much everyday, but was in one of the articles about the 4Mbps I think. If anyone knows what I am talking about please post link.
