Does anyone know what the soft cap for the 2mb uncapped adsl is? All I could find on here was that the 4mb was 250gb but on the telkom site it said that the soft cap is 10gb.
 
I have a Pace921VNX 40mbps wifi router.

Wifi during day is 100% around the home office, but at night I experience dead slow speeds or even zero wifi connectivity on my Macbook & other wifi devices.
Apple TV is linked with ethernet cord & works fine, telling me the Internet connection is good.

Any ideas?

Thats what I thought. Put my order through to upgrade from 2Mbps to 4Mbps on Friday. My area supports 10Mbps. Phoned yesterday to find out wtf was going on and the response was "upgrade department is still busy with confirmations and testing". I can't say I was impressed with that answer.
 
@TelkomZA - why is it that I cannot get through to your call centers? I am trying to move my existing ADSL line to a new residential address. I did fill out a form on your website and have not gotten so much as an email back to confirm anything. Would really appreciate some help in this regard.
 
Fault Response Times

Telkom must have major problems. Over the last few weeks I sent three SMS fault reports to Telkom, the usual response is they will try to fix the problem in two days. Then I noticed that the response became eight days. Now on the latest response I got the following.

"Dear Customer, Fault xxxCRKxxx has been created for Service ID 011472xxx. Telkom will endeavor to resolve this problem within 11 days. Apologies for the inconvenience. Please do not reply to this SMS. Telkom"

What is going on Telkom, and do they even respond to this page anymore?

No Ports available

So we have been waiting for 2 weeks for Telkom to activate our ADSL line, made a deposit payment and they said it will be activated with the 7 day order window. My mom went into a Telkom Direct store today to find out the progress, now they say there is no ports available at the exchange but when I checked on the ADSL checker, they say the service is available.

Went through all the trouble to have our current line converted to post-paid only to get told this.

BTW, checked another family members number and this is the message I got when I check for availability.

Your request failed
No free ports available- Waiters registered on StationCode(s): WCFU:07.
 
Thanks @Jimmy. I actually put that post up for others to see the 11 day thing, if that is their average turn around time they should not be in business.
 
It is awesome we have someone on board. We have basically been down the whole day.... We have connection but nothing will work... Please help. I tried calling but an hour and a half on the phne still no one to talk to :(

Everyone is on leave, taking advantage of the public holidays to get more time off. I did the same thing last month got 2 weekends and a week off for only 4 working days worth of leave.

One techie told me that you just have to persist with trying to get a port. Every now and then some will cancel.

Will definitely do that... Tried calling the call center yesterday evening but call got cut, trying calling back but got the message that they only operate 08h00 - 17h45 :(
 
So I'm supposed to get a 3G dongle as part of the Simple deal that I am paying for and the Telkom Direct store person tells me the entire western cape has no stock of it. Seriously??? :wtf:

I purchased a topup about the 25th of April after the normal bundle was used up.I expected the topup to be carried over and used first
in the new month. The usage is coming off my normal bundle and the top up is remaining static.The top up expires about the 25th of May.
I have tried to phone without success.I have emailed them but have no response.
Can you please help.

I'm waiting as well...since the 13 April.

I've been waiting for feedback on a fault from November last year......................
they refuse point blank to credit my account for the NON-delivery of UP to 10mpbs when they have admitted in writing that the exchange will only go up to 4mbps.
