Temu is exploding in South Africa

Been waiting for Amazon, now not bothered with them. Temu soooo cheap and descent quality.

Will agree i think im on my 12-15th order already got one whole order for free was like R2000 or something in stuff

On the flip side it is also identifying what products the world needs and what demand trends are. From what I can see its a massive online chinese factory. This should be a big threat to the "Takealot marketplace" because all that is essentially is people importing cheap chinese **** off of Alibaba and marking it up by several hundred percent to then sell to suckas on Takealot. That business is threating to dry up with Temu arriving, so it will be interesting to see how this pans out. I notice that there are no premium brands on temu - its all rather functional as opposed to trying to hit a quality metric.

Well you see it big time with Pet toys for CATS there are a few fishing rod toys they sell here for crazy prices and back on TEMU they dirt cheap.

Couldn't get that last R6 for my free order :(. But yeah only done 2 have any 150 in credit from doing price adjustments
 
After seeing this article in the latest in a string of local and international articles talking about Temu, I pulled the trigger yesterday and ordered my first 5 items for a cost of R1000. Considering one of them was a drone for R730, the rest was dirt cheap for stuff I still want (wireless fast charger for my cellphone and watch), rechargeable LED torch, LED ceiling projector and humidifier (remote-controlled no less). I have to salute Temu’s gamification, I got R2000 in vouchers for my next orders.

Please post a review. Will be very interesting to see how many of those are actually usable for a day.
 
Local business must be so bitter about Temu and Shein and the likes.

I have however spotted many items in Temu on Takealot for up to R900 per item more :ROFL:

Takealot is becoming a joke.

Purchased Rhinowalk motorcycle bags for R2000 on temu. Exact same bags sell for R4200 on TAL. I consistently find items on TAL at more than double the price compared to Temu.

So many things we buy come from China. It's not necessarily all trash. But the price quadruples by the time it gets here.
 
Popped my (Temu) chery earlier. First impressions so far were on point.

Didn’t plan to at all but the prices & variety man, did I say the prices?

TAL & all better lube up nicely.

I don't think this will impact Takealot, they're already selling stuff from Temu :ROFL:
