To make the world hate them. Given how criticism of Islam is now basically hate speech to SJW and the left, they have certainly managed to convince a fair portion of the west to love their way of life.
It is Stockholm syndrome on a cultural level.

It was a Muslim terrorist attack, bugger all to do with Brexit.
The perpetrator is supposedly identified as a British born jihadist who has been jailed for funding terrorism and iirc was arrested a year ago or so trying to get to Syria. If it's the same person, he was a deputy to a hate preacher called Anjem Choudry who was deported to somewhere in the Middle East (Jordan?) a few years ago.
Looks like the guy in the pic, but maybe a bit too dark?

He could have just come over here and been a taxi driver. Then again, throwing the 'k' word around here like he did in that vid would likely have got him to the great disappointment that was meant to be the virgin paradise he was after, sooner.

Abu Izzadeen (born Trevor Brooks, 18 April 1975), is a British spokesman for Al Ghurabaa, a British Muslim organisation banned under the Terrorism Act 2006 for the glorification of terrorism. He was convicted on charges of terrorist fund-raising and inciting terrorism overseas on 17 April 2008, and sentenced to four and a half years in jail. He was released in May 2009, after serving three and a half years, including time on remand.
He visited Pakistan in 2001, before the September 11 attacks, as part of Al-Muhajiroun; he claims he went there to give a series of lectures. He also claimed to have attended terror training camps in Afghanistan.
He described the 7/7 suicide bombers in London as "completely praiseworthy".
He has openly stated that he wished to die as a suicide bomber.
He openly supported ISIS.

LOL here in SA we EXPECT people to drive like him. He would not have gotten very far as people would simply step out of the way and give him the finger and a good old "watch where you're going jou vokken ****!!"
It's a beautiful area, so peaceful. The last thing you expect is gunfire. The last disturbance in that part of London was probably Spitfires and Messerschmitts buzzing overhead 70 odd years ago.

I assume to win sympathy for their cause? Unless it is the 70 virgin thing, but I find it hard to believe a British-born person would be so completely stupid, after enjoying the benefits of a democracy that panders to minorities.

If you hate them you're helping them achieve their objective aren't you? But the objective is bigger that that. They don't want the west to just hate them, they want the west to hate all Muslims everywhere. All part of the great war they want and you're basically being their patsy and responding exactly according to their plan. Maybe the left are trying to prevent them from achieving their objective - if peace loving Muslims are embraced by the west then the extremists haven't got a chance at success. If they are instead hated and alienated they have no where to go but to Muslim countries run by extremists, more soldiers for their great jihad. Love is the only solution here, not hate.
'Embracing them' won't necessarily stop the attacks either. Their stated goal is to have the world converted to islam and run under sharia. You can't stop that by just being a peace loving hippy.
