Testing times ahead for Telkom

Shame hey, almost down to the original Khulisa share value. go figure.

Company share price suffered massive drop from R60 to R31.50 last month

Another unresearched article. The reason the share price dropped from R60 is because they paid a special dividend of R19 just after the sale of Vodacom. The share price is now R40.60, so if it was R60, and they have paid dividends of R19+R1.15+R2.60 = R22.75, then the share price should be R60 - R22.75 = R37.25 so it has in fact gained R3....

I love Telkom

To take an unpopular position

People may not realise it , but it is in our own best interest that Telkom does well:cool::)

You may ponder on that carefully before you decide to get out the flame throwers :erm:

Speedy 3G Roll-out Needed !

Telkom needs to speed up the 3G Roll-out to at least a minimum of

2000 - 3G BTS

in order to draw market share away from MTN & Vodacom.

All residential areas and small towns need to have a Telkom 3G Tower.

Roaming can be utilized for rural areas.

BUT

The people who take the decisions to spend the R10 Billion in Surplus will waste that money without achieving anything.

They are Dumb.

Telkom can be SA's Number one choice with a Cash Pile of R10 Billion.
The money can really be well spent. Too much Corruption is going on at Telkom and too high prices being paid for too little services for the Consumer and for Themselves.

Rueben September is not a Capable CEO of Telkom.

He has failed and he is still in his position. Why ?.........................

Telkom's Fixed line Voice is under so much pressure yet call charges are going up.

Telkom Controls South Africa's Internet , Yet the Entry level is R300 for ADSL.

Someone within Telkom is trying to Bring Telkom to it's knee's ............

Maybe for a BEE buyout !........................................Remember this post in 24 months time..

Our fixed line infrastrcture will continue going to sh*t with no monies spent on maintenance. If this wasn't an issue, I'd not give a damn. But hey, even if they were making lotsa money now (which they have in the past) they'd probably still not maintain them (as they haven't for many years in the past from a Telkom maintenance staff member or two). Ok my line works ok and at least I got someone out in difficult times when line was shaky but for how long will it all last?

...massive drop from R60 to R31.50...

Sounds like a good plan for 1GB bundle pricing.

LOL....

If Telkom dies, will LLU occur?? Either way, the more they suffer the better- as a last resort they might even consider lowering their prices:eek:

Bears & Bulls -- Pidgeons and Cats

Just to throw a little curveball into the mix :erm::D

What sort of WIRED data / broadband package offering from Telkom would induce you to move across to them in place of the current "mobile" operators offerings
