The 200,000+ km thread

Relatively speaking the Polo Vivo is not at all crap; in the long term; relative to the entry-level (cheap) Koreans. It's the better engineered car ito of durability. Boring & pricey for what it is but more long lasting.

I stay in the vaal, and drive to sandton almost everyday. At which point I still drive more since I'm a field tech. I do over 50k a year easy.

Astra G? They go far but the interior does begin to show wear at 150,000, thankfully it is cheap to fix/improve. I hope my Astra H lasts as long.

Other good thing about the Vivo is that it does not develop rattles as the mileage clocks up. It comes standard with rattles.

Bought the car second hand when it had 155K km on in June last year.

Did the water pump at 160K and my one shock mount is due at the next service. Otherwise no issues. I am an IT engineer so we do some distances daily

Drove a 2014 Picanto for a month, a 2013 1.6 Accent for 2 weeks - skittish at 100km/h on the freeway... all horrible. Cheap plastic through and through. The Polo Vivo may be complete crap, but hell, its drive is a million times better.

Yeah, absolute joke. Never again. I also drove a friends' i20 once, similar experience to what I had in the Picanto. Both were new cars, virtually off the showroom floor.

the ML approaches 270Mm :D
Sprang a bit of a water leak at the expansion bottle. Snipped off the end of the hose, bunged in some gasket maker and retightened the hose clamp... sharp :)
 
My MK6 Fiesta ST gave me 264K before i traded it. In all that time, one clutch and one battery. And it was modded from 50k kms.
 
Tazz 1300 bought new (18 January, 2003), 315000 km on the clock. Just replaced engine seals and rings - was leaking an awful lot of oil all over place. Getting it back today.

None, whatsoever, minor things, like the carb being out of tune so it doesn't start very quickly maybe like 2-3 seconds of cranking, so starter motors last about 3 years. (Refurbs). I've had to do valve stem seals, rings are still good (factory)

Changed cam belt twice but it's never snapped. 2 clutches.

But those are just normal items.
 
How do your vehicles look? My 1995 e36 316i A is now on 240K km's. Routine services and maintenance. Got an ABS light currently that I need to get looked at.
