The 200,000+ km thread

ballade on 347k kms... gearbox swapped out, otherwise just services.

The ML's oil consumption has gone right down in the time I've had it. I've fixed visible external leaks, but it also used to burn a bit. When I got it, it was at around a pint every 500km.
Ran an engine flush on the last service - a mechy friend of mine told me it often frees up sticky rings on the pistons to allow them to seal better. It seemed to work, have not had to top up since I did that service.

My 2006 polo is on 170k, will get to 200k easily.

Wife's 2009 Ford fiesta on 67k oil pump packed up and have to get a whole new sub assembly :(

So the VW is a specific model, but the entire Ford model range is bad mouthed in a generic Ford comment. Biased much.

Sorry for leaving out the model. Actually enjoy the fiesta ride and feel more, but maybe because it is newer
 
Merc sitting on 240'000km now :)

No niggles other than the normal wear and tear. Electric window's thingy went, but only because it gets used every single day. Luckily not hard to replace.

Small scratches from trolleys and whatnot, but everything works and nothing has fallen off
 
Shortly after 201'400KM on my 2011 Hyundai i30 the right hand side stabilizer link/drop link decided enough is enough...this happened on a dirt road after I hit a nasty rut running across the road. The positive aspect of this was the noise was so bad pedestrians would jump out the road when my car approached :D

Hyundai wants R1800 for an OEM set of links, so I found DAR Automotive in PE that sorted me out for R550 for a set of Delphi links. Took about an hour to install and tighten up and she is right as rain again
 
Anyone on here with a Honda Civic Type R or Normal I-vTecs (2008 + models) with high mileage? Considering one of them, but want to find out how it compares to it's grannies in terms of reliability and endurance..
 
BMW X5 4.8i (mine) with 214000 km, no serious issues just regular maintenance.
BMW X3 3.0i (wife's) with 250000 km, had to replace the transfer case and some cooling system bits & pieces about midway through but nothing major other than normal maintenance.
 
Fiat Uno 1.4 beat- Currently sitting on 379000km

Motor rebuild and Converted to FI at 310000km using Spitronics ECU
2 set of shocks
2x Alternator & Starter overhaul and it is due again to be redone
It is due for suspension bushes overhaul

Has been reliable.
 
To think that I could have joined this thread if I still had my 2000 Citi 1.3 - it was on 186 000 km in March 2015.
 
2005 Kia Picanto, currently on 255K. Still runs 15Km/L and parks like a dream. Inclines though, sigh.... :)
 
e46 318i is currently on 265k. Mechanically perfect, but interior is starting to fall apart :(
 
Had a Toyota Corolla 2006 model sold it when it just reached 345000km never had any issues with that car just servicing changing brakes and tyres very reliable vehicle. Oh had the front shocks replaced at some stage.
