Yip. My average fill ups are 130-155L.
Petrol attendants always ask if I have an extra tank and I say no its standard.
Turns out most people with prados only partial fill. I just fill as much as possible so when I'm traveling I dont have to stop as often.

Had a few cars over a few years. Fiesta ST, Clio RS, a LR that cost me a bucket load & I was turned off. Prob a good thing I didn't get an A5 even though I was super keen on one.

Currently using a cheap ass Fiat Palio (bought cash) to get around, low running cost & simple to fix if/when they break. It's been super reliable so far (touch wood).

I'm rather diverting funds into investments & some upcoming travel.

Said Palio is not on 200k kilos yet.
 
Polo 2003, 1.4 TDI 213.000 km. Tried to reach 180 kph to take a photo. I do have a 140 kph photo on gravel road to Helios in my Audi A4 ;-)

Of my own doing I had a one breakdown.
Over tightened a leaking diesel injector which resulted it flying through the plastic "tappet cover" and stripped thread.
Towed in and repair was less than R2k. Luckily no damage to the injector itself.

Known issues: Aircon regas every 2nd year

Preventative maintenance costs:
Front shocks, shock mounts and ball joints & bushes (complete lower control arm) - Parts alone was around R8k
Both top and back of engine mounts - R4k
Rear discs hubs with bearing and brake pads - R3.5k
Front brake pads - R600
4x Michelin Primacy tyres - R8k
Shell HX8 and oil and air filter every 15k km

+-105 tanks of Diesel 50ppm:unsure:

Still returning me 6.1l - 6.3l / 100km on every single tank
 
Why would the aircon needs regas so often? Is there a leak in the system?

No idea, but that is the only reasonable explanation. I had it twice at one place and then at another to check/test over the years.
They said they need to strip dashboard but can't guarantee that problem can be fixed - I said no thanks.

R500 every second year is better spend than to have car out of action for weeks and potential new electrical faults and rattles.

My last car was an S203 Merc, same sort of issue. There was a leak in the evaporator, and it needed a regas twice a year. Unfortunately they built the car around the evaporator, so it would have been a R14K job to replace it, not worth the hassle - everything in the front half of the cabin comes out, seats, dash, console, everything.
