The 200,000+ km thread

Yup no rings or bearings, any bearings, even the wheel bearings are stock.
I got the car at 89k km iirc, and up until about 450k i drove it hard, not much power in that 1.3 and friends had 2L cars, JHB traffic also, on pullaway you'd have to press it a bit to keep up with the average 1.4 hatch. Towards the end i drove normally(not conservatively).

The new owner stopped by a few weeks ago, he did shocks, that's it. car was on 548k .

The company van, White Isuzu KB250 (Diesel) just reached 700 000km yesterday. Not sure what services it went through

Yeah i wish i could have kept it, was my first car too. I just hope the new owner services the way i did. Besides 1 service (when the valve stem seals were shot and i used high mileage oil), i only used Shell 5w40 oil, even when the price of that oil shot up to over R700/5L.

My daily is getting closer - 155k and counting. It’ll be three years old in July, should get close to 200k by the end of the year. The ‘pool’ car has well over 500k, but that’s being used by a friend on a long term loan, so even though it’s in my name I don’t suppose it counts as mine right now. :)

I still pay for the license and insurance. If it get written off I’ll score, I’d not be able to sell it for anywhere near book value with that mileage, which is pretty much why I still own it - salesman literally laughed at me when I asked how much he’d give me as a trade in.
 
1. 2001 Toyota Tazz 1.6 - 480 000km original engine never touched. Gearbox had to be changed.

2. 2000 Toyota RSI - 400 000km
Original engine never touched. Knock sensor and clutch recently done. Does use 1 point oil for every +/- 1000km done

Owned both from brand new and serviced at Toyota Agents.

She has been really good, i am the second owner got her at 73000km, no major issues, did the brakes twice thus far and thats about it. Also really light on juice only 7.7l. oh have the 2007 1.6rt

Good to hear that she is treating you well.

Mine is the pap 1.3 motor, but it does its duties with no fuss and returns 5.9L/100 at the pumps.
I cannot really fault it and i have accepted its power.

I drove that one before it has the 6 speed gearbox right?
