The 200,000+ km thread

My Pajero GLX 3.2 diesel, which I bought new 2005 has more than 300 000 on the clock. I recently took it on a Botswana (Okavango and Savuti/Chobe) trip and it towed by Conqueror trailer all the way (thick sand in December heat). Still the car we use on a daily basis. My wife has taken it over after I bought a new car 2 years ago. Best car I ever owned
 
The fuel gauge will bother me every time if this was my car.
1/4 - 2/4 - 3/4 would have been acceptable.

Maybe I just need another strong morning coffee....:confused:
If you think that is bothersome, check out the speedo:

0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100....

EDIT: I believe it is this way to make the speedo needle easier to see and to gauge your speed when going at lower speeds. Or so a VW fanatic once told me.

VW Amarok, must mention it's never bothered me in either of these vehicles I've had.

In the 11 years of ownership... just normal services.... last year i replaced the entire exhaust from the manifold (fitted a 4 into 1 branch). the original lasted 20 years... they dont make them like they used to.
What is the function of the aluminium hose that goes from the exhaust manifold to somewhere in the engine?

Indeed they dont, and thats very sad sometimes, as new cars are made of paper mache with too many computers to break and cost a fortune to fix.
why cant simple reliable little hatchbacks/sedan make a comeback? I mean that is what you want in a place like Africa.

if I wanted a Star-Ship Enterprise, i'd watch the TV show, not drive it every day, with bongs and beeps and flashing lights everywhere.
simple honest to god transportation, what is so hard about that?
