The 2017 Weightloss Thread

Age: 35
Sex: Male
Height: 1.90m
Current Weight: This morning I weighed in at 87.55kg (the scales at gym are very accurate so I usually weigh myself after getting out of the shower wearing only my boxers)
Goal Weight: Nothing higher than 90kg, ever
Heaviest Weight: 105kg
Method: Gym 4 days a week

Useless info: I fell sick while camping over the holidays (stomach bug, twice!!!) and lost 2kg. I weighed 89.65kg on 17 December 2016

I weigh in on Friday mornings and even though curiosity gets me at times I'm quite strickt with my weigh only once per week rule.
So far this week it feals like the weight is standing still, maybe my body is in shock after the sudden change in diet after the holidays.

Yeh. Looking at my weight, same thing. Come Monday I'll be hitting the low-carb and high fat very hard for about 3 days, to see if I can get my body into Keto.

Seems I might just join you.
Seems simple enough :p

Did Week 2 Day 4 this morning. After tomorrow I will be exactly half way with the 4week challenge and I feel great so far.

Todays workout was bloody hard though. Yesterday was a breeze but today was something else.

I like to have a few beers on a Friday afternoon (and Saturday and Sunday :p) and was contemplating having to drink Castle Lite. It's not bad but not great, I'm not fond of larger anyway. So I did a bit of Googling and discovered that Stellenbrau beers are all low carb and low kJ. About the same or less than Castle Lite. I love their weiss and it's on tap at two places in my town! You get it at Checkers too. NICE.

:D

I've emailed CBC and Woodstock Breweries to ask for their nutritional information. They make good beers too.

what? that nutritional info seems to good to be true......

but yet:
"Other great news is that Stellenbrau beers are easy on the waistline. Scientifically verified nutritional analysis reveals the brews to be low in kilojoules and carbs alike, which should encourage those watching their sugar and carbohydrate intake not to ‘fear the beer’. Containing no preservatives and made with pure and natural ingredients, our beer is made to be enjoyed and savoured."

106.5kg damn, it's slower than what I would've hoped. Oh well, I'll try the first 3 days of next week to see if I can drop me into the keto zone

95kg.

Did not lose anything this week but did get to finish week 2 of my 4 week challenge.
2 weeks to go then I go back to kickboxing as well.

101.2 kg

As usual I stall by the 5th day (same as yesterday). I sort that out by increasing my kJ intake for two days and then back to normal. That triggers weight loss again for 4 days. Works like that every time.

Double digits next week. :)

Fanie, as to progress %, wouldn't this make more sense?

Start - Goal = Range
Start - Current = Loss
Progress % = (Loss / Range) * 100

E.g.:

Range = 103.5 - 85 = 18.5
Loss = 103.5 - 101.2 = 2.3
Progress % = (2.3 / 18.5) * 100 = 12.4%

Erm.... isn't that how I'm currently doing it?
/looks at formula
