Check in at 80.4kg.

Been having a new kitchen fitted this week so we've been having a lot of takeaways and eating out. Still been generally choosing healthy options for these though.

When I started on blood-pressure tablets (my average over a day was 145/90 and the GP thought it too high - I am 73) I started to pee a lot and in 3 days, lost 5kg

Blood pressure is now 130/80 and I seem to have retained the weight loss.

I walk the dog 3 times a day for 20 mins each. Its not so much of a brisk walk as she stops every few metres to sniff things

Monday morning check in: 104,3kg (300g to go until I've hit 10kgs for the year so far)

Progress has slowed down, but sticking to it.

Also, happy birthday @Sinbad ! :D You're allowed to have cake today.

Haha thanks!

Hi Guys.
Joining up for this year. My weight loss efforts have started in earnest. Changing my lifestyle to reduce dairy, carbs and meat intake. Cutting out sugar completely.

Feels a lot more natural and easy than a diet approach.

Aiming for 75kg.. currently at 92kg.. have lost 3kg so far since starting the journey.

(also been nicotine free for almost 1 month now... so feeling much more healthy and energetic)

Check in - after birthday and company celebrations, 82.7kg. Better than expected, at least a loss.

Did not weigh myself this week. Was away from home for the last 5 days and didn't have access to gym or healthy food. Pretty sure I've undid all the work I've done since the beginning of the year... will find out on my next weigh-in.

Also not weighing myself :/

Double party this last weekend. eish.

Still going to metafit and metaPWR though. I think that I'm putting on muscle :/

So... sort of converse to the theme of the thread, but I've been trying to put on weight and am currently the heaviest I've ever been :D

I was pretty much where you were last year smoking, over weight (around 90) and just feeling straight yuck. I currently weight 75kg and run marathons.

losing up till 80kg's was relatively easy but going under 80kg's was a friggin mission and my only advice is to find some exercise you love. I hated picking things up and putting them down, riding bike, etc etc then I started running and just fell in love with it.

Good luck and hope you find your path.

Thanks.. Yes. As a smoker I lacked the energy and enthusiasm to really get into any exercise. While I have not yet started exercising, I am finding that my sleep patterns are improving, I feel lighter and overall healthier.

I have fairly weak knee ligaments, so my knee tends to pop out of joint when it's under strain (not sure if that's the right description).. all I know is it's frikken painful.. so I'm not sure about running as an exercise. Will just have to find the right option for me.

Ok so I went up a bit to 90.7kg last week while staying at a B&B in Pretoria

But came back down to 90.2kg this morning.

Seems cracking 90kg is harder than I thought

Monday morning weigh in: 102.5kg

Down 11.5kgs since Jan 1st so far... and went to gym a total of 4 times so far this year.

The lowest I've been in Norway was 101.3kg and the last time I was below 100kg was in 2012, so I'm gunning for it.
