Day 3 of the Darebee Gauntlet challenge done, and 4.93km walk after work. Friend of mine wanted to do a 36 hour fast, going to see if I can make it to when I get home from work tomorrow, which would make it a 45 hour fast :D View attachment 994202

This is awesome. I’ve adopted an intermittent fasting routine of 18:6 with a keto eating plan.

5 days a week cardio workout.

Which app do you use for intermittent fasting?

Ah awesome, I also started on 18:6, and am mostly keto (tryingto go for all ketothis time round, beef to finally hit that goal). My aim is to get to a 7 day fast this year... at some point.

I'm using LIFE Fasting. I've tried a few but I like this one because you can edit your start and end times on the fly - very handy when you forgot to hit the "start" button the night before and only remember in the morning :giggle: Also gives you the option to create or join circles. The bf, myself and a friend are in one and it's cool to see other people you know fasting with you.

Thanks for the recommendation on the app. Used a few but they weren’t flexible.

Back in 2018/2019 I managed 48 hour fasts building up from the 16:8. Want to get back to that level again. I’m sure I can. Maybe I’ll join you on that 7 day fast one day

I'm rather sticking to 16:8.

Tried doing 23:1 and even 20:4 quite a while back. But with a physical job and rather intense workouts after work I always found myself completely burning out after a week. And then the binge eating and self pity start.

Sticking to what works for me now. And more importantly what is sustainable.

And that is what everybody should do. There are no one-size-fits-all plans.

I find it quite easy to fast while at work but then I don't have a physically demanding job like @APoc184

Most of my days are spent walking the premises to go check on people and processes or stuck in Zoom meetings, so I'm kept busy enough to not worry about food. I get home just before 6 pm and leave the house at 7 am, so it's fairly easy to do minimum 20-hour fasts at a time on weekdays. Been doing that since the 4th Jan on weekdays, so doing the 40-odd hour fast now really isn't too rough on me at the moment. Where I am going to struggle is when those extended fasts cover a weekend though...... Which I won't be able to avoid on a 7-day stint. But I'm at least 2 months away from that attempt :P

I also haven't been fasting at all on weekends, and plan to start that now, so we'll see how I cope with that... Going to aim for 16:8 on weekends though, I don't think I'll manage much more than that without feeling like I'm being severely deprived of all the good things in life

That’s an excellent approach. I have an office based job and my training is not as intense as I’m starting all over again.

18:6 and 20:4 are sustainable for now.

Good luck

Weekends are always a challenge.

We strive on routine so weekdays are easy peasy, but weekends do not fall into that category.
