The AirTies thread

Having so many issues with these devices lately...they were wokring fine then one day i made a config change (changed wifi channel) and its been a nightmare.

Wifi will randomly drop, devices on the 2.4ghz ssid lose their dhcp leases, throughput on 2.4ghz ssid drops to 0, APs in the mesh drop the connection to other APs and restarting yhe main node brings down the whole network.

I've reset and reconfigured them at least 5 times since Friday and im frankly over it now. What makes it worse is that the logs dont show, as in i have setup the logs to display but nothing is shown

Try call Nology

First I converted and supplied half of carbonite to unifi... soon it will happen here as well haha

I think the AirTies work in most situations - I know of people changing from the UniFi t to an AirTies mesh

I think there are over 30 million AirTies deploys in the world, so you're going to hear a few complaints based on the sheer numbers out. But as far as mesh systems go, they're probably the best you can get

Honestly I have never heard of anyone going from unifi to airties, only thing I ever heard is people never wanting to go to anything else. However doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.
Personally I think the only reason someone might change could be due to cost.

with that said, doesn’t mean airties are bad. I’ve heard adding more than 3 units then it becomes a bit difficult. No personal experience just what I heard. Then we go to unifi and I’ve currently got 4 units running perfectly for both indoor and outdoor. Know plenty of people who have a lot more (for their bigger properties) and they run with no issues.

Yes, same firmware. It seems to have stabilized but i have already started the upgrade to Unifi and should be complete tat the end of the month. Didn't get hold of Nology - haven't had the time tbh - but yeah the system is critical but stable

I sent them a mail and they provided new firmware. I upgraded my devices to 3.67.8.10.4917 earlier so lets see.

EDIT: What do you have at the moment? Maybe adding 1 or 2 more nodes to my network will also help?

Ah nice - let me know how the new FW is - any new functionality or just more stability?

I saw no new features, so it must just be stability. Network is back up now so hopefully it is the silver bullet that I needed. :) It would be nice if Nology had a webpage where we can get these updates.

Ill check back later once I know how my network is behaving.

Got your PM. Ill talk to you if I decide to replace my Airties units. They have been great for a very long time now so hopefully the firmware update is what the doctor ordered.

I'm even scared to install new firmware in case everything comes crashing down

Any feedback on this? Network more or less stable?
