The Anni Dewani Murder Case

I cant believe people believe Dewani.
You really think the guys responsible for the actual killing made up such a ridiculous story?
Justice has failed once again.
I wonder if people saying the evidence of the guys was so bad, have you ever been in court? Ever been cross examined?

I'm pretty sure that people are incentivized to make up stories all the time. Life in jail or 10 years?

Yes the Judge said so. I think she is eminently qualified to state that.

You should remember Tonga said "whats in it for me" prior to uttering one word before becoming states witness.

They only needed one person to come up with the 'plan'.

DEWANI TO RETURN TO THE UK

British businessman Shrien Dewani will return to the United Kingdom on Tuesday, eNCA reported.

His flight from Cape Town International Airport is scheduled to leave at 1.20pm.

The broadcaster showed cellphone footage of Dewani being escorted by police at the airport.

Western Cape High Court Deputy Judge President Jeanette Traverso on Monday granted Dewani's application for his discharge on the charge of killing his wife Anni in November 2010.

Traverso ruled there was not enough evidence to convict Dewani. She said it was regrettable that many unanswered questions remained about what happened the night Anni was killed, but she could not be swayed by public opinion.

I hope Anni's family arrange for a taxi shuttle to pick him up at the airport ;)

Apparently the justice4Anni, facebook page, twitter account and website were removed yesterday, because they could have faced libel actions in the UK.

They certainly published nonsense as fact. And used it to fan the flames of hatred.

However there is archived evidence. Once something is posted, if can never be totally removed.

Hope somehow this price gets what he deserves. I'm convinced he was behind it
Despite the entirely lacklustre evidence? Are you serious? So why don't we send everyone whose spouse gets killed in SA to jail? That sounds like a reasonable solution to the problem

DEWANI BACK IN BRITAIN AFTER HONEYMOON MURDER ACQUITTAL

British businessman Shrien Dewani arrived back home on Wednesday after being cleared by a South African court of murdering his bride during their honeymoon.

Television pictures showed the 34-year-old making his way from his flight to the terminal at London's Gatwick Airport, and then being whisked away in a vehicle at around 7.00 am (0700 GMT), pursued by photographers.

Dewani arrived in Britain before sunrise on a connecting flight from Dubai, having left Cape Town on Tuesday, a day after the high court there cleared him of hiring hitmen to murder 28-year-old Anni Dewani (nee Hindocha) in a Cape Town township during their honeymoon in November 2010.

Police escorted Dewani through Cape Town International Airport to catch an Emirates flight heading to Dubai which left at 1:30 pm (1130 GMT). He reportedly flew first-class and later switched to a flight to London.

Prosecutors said Dewani wanted his wife killed because he is gay and felt trapped into marriage by family pressures.

Dewani told the court in a written statement at the start of the trial that he is bisexual and admitted having sex with male prostitutes, but said he loved Anni.

Anni's family said after the acquittal that they planned to sue Dewani, saying she would never have married him if she had known about "his secret sex life with male prostitutes".

"Neither would we have, as a family, condoned a union with a man who indulged himself in such a sordid manner," the family said in a statement.

Both families are of Indian origin and mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters had sat across the courtroom from each other since the trial began in October.

The judge in the case, Jeanette Traverso, said the state's evidence had "fallen far below" the level needed to secure a conviction.

She said testimony by two men jailed for Anni's murder that Dewani had masterminded the plan was "improbable" and full of contradictions and lies.

Dewani had returned to Britain within days of the murder and fought a three-year legal battle to avoid being extradited to South Africa, claiming he had mental health problems, including depression and post-traumatic stress.

But he was sent back to South Africa in April, where he was found fit to stand trial and was held at a psychiatric hospital for the duration of the trial.

Because not everyones spouse is murdered by people paid by their spouse!
Just because the cs fell apart doesn't mean he didn't do it.
Again have you ever been in court? Ever been cross examined?

I think he probably did it. Unfortunately, the state presented a very weak case. Alas, that's life and justice.

Why would whether he has been to court or cross examined have any bearing on another case? It is this case where the witnesses were found wanting. Not that case. Or that other case.

You either think he did it, or you know he did it.. And if you know he did it, well shame on you for perverting the course of justice by withholding your evidence.
