The Ashes 2021-22

Finn seems to have mental issues.

They have this Topley guy who is left armer and 6'7.
For some reason they can't get him into test cricket.

Topley isn't fast. He is more a white ball bowler who relies on his variation.

Wasn't advocating picking Finn for this tour, he is well past it. Was just pointing out the type of bowlers they used in 2010 for their only ashes win in aus in 30 years.

Their issue is the archer & stones injuries + Stokes not fully bowling fit. Those + wood are the bowler types suited to aus wickets. The others will struggle on most aus wickets where pace, seam & bounce dominate as opposed to swing.

They do have some silver lining with this series having 2 day night tests. The pink ball will swing.

Next test crucial for them. If they lose the first pink ball this will end 5-0/4-1.

I've seen worse like Trescothick, Chanderpaul, Smith. If the technique between the ears is not firing it shows.
Their technique worked and their records show it does. His doesn't. Hell, even mine is better :)

You don't get to score 10k first class runs with a crap technique. His 30 odd test average is not the worst - it's still better than Bavuma who's played in more matches and not even as an opener. Even Dom Sibley is struggling with a 28 average. Hell, both Athers and Hussain never cracked much more than the mid 30's in their test careers which went on for many years.

English opener is the toughest job in test cricket with many suffering mental illnesses Cook, Trott, Trescothick list is long.

Australia have won the toss and have opted to bat

This is the sixth pink ball Test that Adelaide is hosting.

Unless australia totally collapses this test is done. Butler dropping 2 hasn't helped.

Another wicket off a no-ball...Robinson to Marnus.

Edit: Gets Marnus in the next over.

Australia are batting the English into a corner here. Get the runs on the board. Pile on the pressure. And they won't spoil chances.

Wonder if it's the color of the ball or England's poor fielding ? Anyhow, I think England is out of this already. A first innings of 400 for Aus now.

I love the Aus lower order's way of batting. Move fast and break things (in this case, the English).
