First time I hear of this. If heard people running S9s, well, most Antminers, in all but ideal conditions, no problems. Maybe a bad batch?

just google antminer s9 hw errors or antminer hardware version empty or antminer s9 status blank or antminer s9 hashing board repair

The miner startup and work then when it cools down the soldering crack and it does not detect the hashing boards.
ask any proper supplier and it is only bitmain that have these issues

I guess the people I chat to don't switch the miners off long enough for the soldering to cool down and crack :)

What you guys reckon is a good price to pay for a new S9 available immediately?

That's down to the sheer numbers out there, not build quality. Bitmain's stuff is pretty solid.
Dry solder joints are common on any electronics that get hot... no it's not only Bitmain who have these issues, ask any miner.

Since you're at it, please name these suppliers that will back up your theory.

Good price or fair price?

I let mine go for R55K including PSU.

Even that was probably a bit high.
But you bought at 1800$ with psu and shipping. Now Bitmain charging about $3000 with shipping and Psu

Update on my S9 order:

So I placed my order at LMS Global on the 23rd November. I was told the shipment date was 2nd of Jan, the order itself said 15th Jan and the owner told me that just the latest delivery date just incase it gets delayed at customs which is fair. Today is the 16th and I still havent received my order. When I ask about my order, he says he will follow up with the couriers and doesnt get back to be for couple hours after I ask for an update again. At first the service was excellent in taking my money and after that service quality dropped faster than the price of Bitcoin.

Will I order from them again? Probably not since this experience left me with a sour taste. I should have ordered from Bitmain directly since theirs was also for mid Jan and also around the same price with shipping.

Should you order from them? Up to you, I wont say don't order from them but if the price is better than other places then it may be worth it. Reviews on their site indicate others have had pleasant experiences with them and thats what led me to support a local guy

Thanks for the feedback Nadir. It can understand that the business and sale of this kind of equipment come with certain caveats, but it's a bitter pill to swallow when you have to hand over your hard-earned cash for something that you have to wait for, and then you end up waiting even longer with a whole lot of uncertainty around it.

I've decided that I will, as much as possible, just order straight from the suppliers. Usually easier said than done, though.

Excellent feedback. Luckily nobody ordered a Baikal-B at R230k or whatever stupid price they were asking. Hope it arrives soon!

I posted a feedback on his website giving him a lovely 2 stars. It said pending approval for about an hour then it got deleted. I guess only 5 star reviews only gets approved.

EDIT: Screenshots added
EDIT 2: Screenshots removed. Rather keep those for my personal records since this is public forum

My machines got delivered :) After I messaged him on WhatsApp and told him it's getting cumbersome to keep asking for updates. He called me after saying the couriers meant to deliver yesterday and they couldn't. So they dispatched it at 9 this morning.

I still stand by my review. Maybe I'll increase it to 2.5/5 stars for him taking the time to call and give me an update. Which could have easily been done yesterday also.

At least I wasn't scammed:D

Jeesh. I hope you're getting your brand new machine and not someone else's. Glad it's being delivered.

Now for the questions about the S9. Is there a way that I can remotely control/access my miner? I live in Durban and work in Richards Bay. The miner will be left in RBay and Id like to monitor it when Im in Durban. Right now I'm in RBay so I cannot set up the miner till Thursday
