The Audi Thread

Guys, I need help please.

I need motivation as to why I shouldn't trade/sell my B7 2.0 and pay in about R15 - 20k for a B7 2.0 T.

Please help!

 :D

Think of the maintenance costs. Turbo? Multitronic? If either gives issues you'll be in for a fair bit of dosh. Other than being slow, there is nothing wrong with the B7 2.0, and the only thing that will change (assuming you get a similarly spec'ed model) is the power increase.

Thanks. :(

Manual though...

Lol, if you going to drive it conservatively you may as we'll stick with the 2.0...

Haha, true that.

I've started driving faster though, the new-car-conservative-driving novelty has rubbed off. Averaging 9 - 10L/100km.

I think one of my concerns is resale, I think it would be easier selling a 2.0 with ±120k km, than a 2.0 T.

Well why didn't you say you're going for a Portuguese grocer in the first place? :p

Bottom line, the 2.0T > the 2.0, but at a potential price. There is no guarantee the Turbo will go, but the chance is always there. Can you afford to take the risk? If so, get the car today. If not, go pick on some Yaris/Etios/i10/i20s to make yourself feel better.

Oh wait, I have the solution! N/A cars are like plasmas with their linear power delivery! Turbo cars are like LEDs with their boost lag and narrower power band! :D

Any car it's as economical as you drive it :D

LCDs*

Lol, good one.

Well let's say I have enough maintenance savings for a turbo replacement from a stealership. But I would go to an independent mechanic of course, people have quoted around R10k in this thread.

Budget for 4 figure fines as well.

30km over the speed = court appearance + 1K fine

Just sayin

R130,000 for one under 100,000kms is very good value. Why is it so cheap?

Because for the money you are really not getting a lot more.

Edit : You also need to ask yourself for how long you are going to be happy with the turbo before you want something else.
