Three of my windows won't auto go down from the driver side, but do go up. I tried this but had no effect.

Battery is fairly new as well

Check your settings.

It's probably disabled for other windows. Then again it wouldn't work for going up then.

Perhaps, it was last replaced 2 years 7 months ago. The reset on the window auto-close and open worked though.

Should I have the battery tested?

It will probably go for a while still but the one-Touch up/down is usually an early sign that it’s on its way out.

Maybe just give it a good charge with a battery charger.

Higher end cars sometimes need a charge, depending on your driving patterns.

Audi Sport says it will add five new models by 2020…

The RS4 Avant recently returned to the Audi Sport line-up.

Audi Sport says that it will increase the number of series production models in its range from 11 to 16 by the year 2020.

The performance arm of the Ingolstadt automaker made the announcement when confirming that Oliver Hoffmann had taken over as head of technical development at Audi Sport, succeeding Stephan Reil, who was “taking on a new role within Audi”.

Hoffmann, the brand said, would now be responsible for Audi Sport’s upcoming product campaign, including five new models.

“With the appointment of Oliver Hoffmann, we have gained a highly qualified manager for the technical development division,” said Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport, who himself is rumoured to be leaving the automaker.

“With his experience and skills, Hoffmann will help to realise the expansion of the Audi Sport brand.”

While Audi Sport did not reveal which five products would be added to its line-up by 2020, rumours suggest that the German automaker is developing a sporty version of its new Q5, with a performance variant of the upcoming Q8 also looking likely.

We can furthermore expect a new RS5 Sportback (and perhaps even an RS5 convertible), RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback, while fresh versions of the R8 – from a V6-powered base model to a hardcore performance flagship – may also be on the cards. Then there’s the rumour that diesel-powered versions of the upcoming S6 and S7 are in development. And, of course, there’s also the chance of an all-electric model joining the Audi Sport range…

Alright, need some input from my fellow Audi owners.

2011 A5 3.2 FSi Quattro.
Out of plan.

A few months or so back, my engine warning light came on. Car felt fine, drove fine, etc... But the light was on.
Even though all felt hundreds, I booked the car in at Audi Bruma to get checked out. They found all sorts of messages and said it could be static, etc... so cleared all messages and told me to drive it, and book it in again if/when the light came back on.

About 1.5 weeks later, the light came back on again. So my car got booked in. They had my car for about 5 days while running their checks etc... They told me I had low compression on piston X (forget the number), and the gasket needed replacing. Quote of R17k for repairs, and discounted it to R15k and some change.
Considering my car felt and went fine, I figured I would rather take it to Auto Service Centre when I got time (my go to for out of plan Audi's). No problem, but am told I am in for R6k for the assessment. Holy crap. I had no choice but to let them carry out the repair. Already R6k in, I figured just spend the extra R9k and get it sorted out.

So the repair is done, and they confirm the engine light is off and staying off. I collect my car.
3 weeks after the repair, the flipping light comes on again!

For the past week, we have been in email wars over who is liable for further costs to getting the initial problem sorted out.
Audi Bruma have accepted literally zero responsibility for the incorrect diagnosis and subsequent repair. I have to simply book it in again, and another assessment gets done. I asked them if they would at least carry the cost of the assessment so I don't get whacked for another R6k - they say no.
In fact, they see this as "financial assistance"! WTF? Is it just me that is seeing this as out of the park?

Quote from latest email
"Unfortunately we are not in a position to financially assist towards any engine faults or repairs to your vehicle, up until we have had an opportunity to ascertain the nature of failure and if it is related to previous repairs we have done?"

Surely if the original problem "Engine light is on" got diagnosed as XYX and repairs carried out, I have a leg to stand on if the light comes on again?
Without them taking some sort of responsibility, I feel I am throwing money into a bottomless pit while they try this and try that. I don't see it is as right that I must just keep repeating this process until they eventually get it right.

Thoughts? Don't spare me if I am being unreasonable please. I am a bit pissed off at the moment, so maybe need to cool off a bit. But this is how I am currently seeing things.
I feel I have paid my dues to get the initial issue fixed. Is it my problem they did not diagnose correctly and I must pay again? What if they don't get it right this time.. Rinse, repeat, and just take it as this is how things are done?

In contrast...
Audi Airport (closed down unfortunately) used to look after my vehicle. A while back, I had an issue they could not resolve first time around. They went out of their way to deliver fantastic service - including sending a driver with a loan car to my house, fetching my car, doing the repair, and getting my car delivered again. Like wow service. This is the kind of thing that kept me driving the brand.
Audi Bruma on the other hand... Make me feel like it is time for a change.

How long warranty did they offer on the repair?

Should carry a min of 6 months warranty.

They should at-least look at the car and see if the problem is on the same piston.

Warranty is 12 month's.

I don't think this is a warranty issue though. After clearing the on-board computer, the engine warning light went off. After doing their repairs (and thereby clearing the computer again), the light went off.
My issue here is they did not correctly diagnose the fault, and therefore not repaired. But I must go through the entire process again - and maybe in the hole for yet another R15k - and based on the first attempt - may not work again. Something I think the dealer should assume some responsibility for?

Maybe I am over reacting a bit...

Sounds like a typical crap dealer, they have you over a barrel and will roger you at will.

It is illegal to charge a quotation fee without the customer first agreeing to the said fee before the quotation is started, was that done before the original repair?

Suppose this is shcool fees, once your vehicle is out of warranty find a good independent asap, unless you have money to burn and/or have swallowed the dealers hook about the dealer being the best place to maintain your vehicle, which often couldn't be further from the truth.

That being said an engine light is a notification that an fault has been identified, to ascertain whether it is related to the original repair they need to connect a diagnostics device to get the fault code and see what it is, could be anything and not related to the repair at all.

I'd pay an independent to first read the fault code and the take it from there, shouldn't cost more than a few hundred rand. Or buy your own diagnostics interface for R300 and check it yourself, now and anytime in the future, very handy device to have.

OK, to play devil's advocate for a bit.
What if the issue is completely unrelated and only came up, coincidentally, a week after their initial fix? Aren't you asking them to commit to covering the cost when they don't know what the fault is?

I typically go to Auto Service Centre in Edenvale. I went to the dealer this time around because I figured it could be a large issue.
They did not give me a quote on the assessment. I was told afterwards, that it would be R6k. Never been charged for assessing my vehicle before.
For the repair its-self, they did give me a quote.

Anyway - I told them to shove it. Taking my car to Auto Service Centre and starting over. After 18 odd years and 5 Audi's, this will be my last. Not been happy with Audi Bruma since day 1. Audi Airport were great - but they are no more.
I will drive this one until the wheels fall off or something - lol. It still goes like a fkn bomb.

Yes - I have considered that. What are the chances of the engine light coming on for 2 different issues though? I mean, it is rare as it is.
The symptoms of the light coming on seem identical to pre-repair, so for me - job not done correctly.

Sad but true, the Audi dealer is completely entitled to their response. It is not as rare as you think. There is no way that you can assume that the "check engine light" coming on again has to do with the same fault as before. Any sensor anywhere in the engine down to the cat that picks up a fault will light up the "check engine" light. They need to assess before they say anything else.

Buy your own scanner so you can check the fault code yourself. In many cases you can clear it and it won't come on again for a while. At least then you have more to go on.
