Hell yes, the Q5 is my first choice anyday :D But it's all about the value and generally I can only afford 2009 with muchos mileage, but I think I found a decent one. Just need someone to give it the once over

Excellent! Keeping it a secret for now? ;) Please PM link.

Now can someone explain to me why Q5's are priced 25% higher in the WC vs the rest of country?

Because the average IQ in the Cape is higher, leading to the ability to recognize good cars, increasing demand and prices?

Here men drive them, elsewhere they get given to women who scratch them. :)

Its always like that with all cars.
I live in East London and lived in Durban before, I found both places were about 20-30% more expensive than JHB.
So each time I bought a car I would get relatives up there to check it out then buy-fly-drive home :p

I should be buying property actually (although we do have two rented out atm), but wifey is demanding an SUV for the kids.

Anyway, went to drive one locally - the thing is huge  Other than that the engine is amazing (expected) and the interior seems to hold up much better than some other brands at 4 years. The cruise control level looks like a weird add on for the manual transmission though, and I'd have to spend some moola getting bluetooth into the car (one in Jhb seems like base spec with zero options from my calls to Audi). Space in the back seats was less than I expected, I could not sit comfortably with the front seat all the way back. But it'll likely be at the 3rd last notch which means there will be enough space. Hmmm, decisions...

Hmmm I might be considered evil or childish for this... But I'm hoping that my wifey one day would not kill me if I did the right thing in your situation, and just showed up at home with an A5 sportback :D

I paid R3750 for the audi bluetooth kit, think it was debeer that suggested the place and it was well priced and the install took 40 minutes.

Glad that you got sorted! Yep, heard many good things about vagtec, sadly they don't have much for the A3 sedan... Would love adaptive cruise! Might add in front PDC though, hard to see the edge of the bonnet sometimes and it is a low car so some kerbs come butthole clenchingly close..

True...wife had a Tucson (absolute POS, but at least it was dirt cheap) and insisted on an SUV again. Got a 2010 Q5 2.0T last year (was looking for 2.0TDi S-tronic but the pre-facelift models seem scarce, even now and premium for 3.0TDi didn't seem worth it).

Anyway, I wanted to get something like this - better engine and value for money (and more space :)). But no...has to be an SUV.

My wife has no issues with me buying my Audi's (on no 5 remember :)).

But... How is this...

After wifey got rid of her A4 she swore she would not own another Audi except the A5. Loved the look of the car.
So I come home 2 months back with my A5 and she is ooh aah. Then drives it. Then says "thanks - you cured my want for an A5. I no longer want one. And you should have kept your A6".
I never mentioned this before because I kind of ignored it and pretended it was never said :(

So... How's the divorce going? I assume you'll be going after the cars and the house?:D

At the dealership today to get my A3 its first service, and the rep said they recommend wheel alignment gets done too at an additional cost of R500. Sounded a bit odd and unnecessary to me after only 10k mileage so said no..

Thoughts?
