The Audi Thread

In line with the book, but why cheaper than the rest of the B7 2.0 T models available? And the rest have higher mileage. Granted I know an expensive service is coming up, but even so. I'd just have a very good look at that car before putting money on the table.

I don't think it's cheaper, I've seen quite a few for less with reasonable kms.

Also, I think many dealers are adding far too much mark-up on these cars, because they are so well priced/book is so low for what you get.

Reckon they traded this one in for R110 - R115k.

My 2.0 was traded in for R100k and I paid R115k. New tyres, waterpump, thermostat, service with rear brakes reconditioning. And a dent removal. Got a good deal...

Anyway, I've asked for the full service history with all claims against warranty. Let's see what pops up.

Well if everything checks out then it's a stellar deal for sure. Is it just the angle of the picture, or does the right side of the grill not match up perfectly with the bonnet? And what's the interior wear on the model like? I looked extensively at B7 2.0 and 2.0 Ts (1.8Ts can go jump) before I settled on my Accord, and every car I looked at had terrible wear on most of the oft-used buttons. Maybe JHB drives just push stupidly hard, but the wear put me off.

Was also wondering about the grill, hopefully it's just the angle. I have another pic, blurry, and it looks OK.

Interior looks good. Upgraded two-tone. Sunroof too... After about 1.5 months of looking, this is the one that's stood out.

Sorry about the large pics, will sort them out if anyone moans.

Well from the pictures it looks good. Minimal wear on the drivers seat bolster, and most of the button that usually have wear look to be in great shape. Really hope it's the one for you, personally I'd just budget for a blown turbo and jump on the car.

You're not supposed to encourage me!

Thanks, will report back once I've gone through it with a fine-tooth comb.

The turbo will cost you more, not a hell of a lot more but definitely more.

Petrol consumption is really good if you treat her well, I got 750km off my last tank (70l tank) and that was not completely conservative driving, I'm sure I could have gotten well over 800 if I drove conservatively.

I also would not want a black one though but that is a good deal.

Keep in mind that the cam-belt service is at 120 000 KM which is going to come out of your pocket in the next year or 2 so budget for that.

Have you test driven the car on an open road? This was the selling point for me, with that 6th gear you will be crusing at 120 doing 2300RPM which is awesome for long distance driving.

I was stuck between the 2.0 and 2.0T bug have not regretted a second of it, I would be depressed now if I ended up with the 2.0 lol.

Hehe... Kinda how I feel...

Not tested yet, still getting the service history print out with claims against warranty. Rest of what I've received looks good so far.

Have you driven any 2.0T A4 yet?

Where in Cape Town are you?

I'm happy to help the cause haha

I work in the CBD and stay in WestBeach, let me know if you want to make a plan

Nothing since my last mail to you with the FSH and claims against warranty. I've been meaning to take a look, but have been lank busy.

Turbo was replaced at ±40k km, as well as something with the ignition.

What do you guys think? I know it's fairly common for the turbos to go, one hopes they get replaced with 'stronger' ones. :p
