Ok, good points on the car washing...
Lazy me = 1
Pedantic me = 0
Hannibals there by Kenilworth Centre used to do a good job, yeah? Or still not up to scratch? Pardon the pun!
I used to agree to this. Audi Airport recently sacked all their washers and got new ones. The state they return my car to me is mind blowing now. I have never had my car look so good as when they return it to me.Driving an Audi, I though you guys would know you never EVER let the dealerships wash your car, no matter what brand you drive.

Oh - I never wash it myself anymore. One of the OCD's I have (had) that I got over.
When I wash myself, it can easily take 3 to 4 hours. I got annoyed at myself and forced the use of car washes.
Lol....How big is your geyser?
More satisfying than gym.
So you done yet?Today is wash, polish then wax day. Will take at least 4 hours. Better get started![]()

The problem is that those employed to wash cars do not know how to take proper care of them. In fact most people don't.
They probably use one bucket on multiple cars. Think about all the dirt going back into that water, and then being scrubbed into your paintwork leaving fine scratches.
Two bucket method only here. After pressure wash.
Dealerships wash your car regardless? Never heard of anyone specifically commanding a dealership to not wash the car..
That makes me the first.![]()
lol. Ag, I know there are some folks who get pleasure out of "detailing" their car (I think that is what it is called). Don't get me wrong - I paid a few g's extra on my car for the "auto-armour" or paint protection or whatever it is called. So I do want to protect the paint. And I do expect the professional car wash to wash the car properly.
And at the end of the day, you washing the car yourself for years will hardly add any value to the car when it comes to reselling, seeing as dealerships know exactly how to buff a vehicle to sell it.
